You do realize these records came out long before metalcore was so saturated and a copycat formula right ? I would love to hear what you consider not generic "Metalcore"

With that said agreed with the point you were trying to make . Would probably have zao in there as well . Zao and poison the well really broke ground in the genre and started the majority of the movement we see today .
TheGooseTavern 12.13.14	that "shitty" act you speak of with shai hulud, i'd lump poison the well into those "shitty" bands. PTW had nothing important to say, you could tell the lyricist couldn't get over a girl, whoo, how deep. I think coalesce would take the cake over killswitch any day as well. Along with PTW, KSE sings mostly about b.s. and their albums get shittier and shittier. I'm convinced that 95-99% of sputnik LOVES converge, I happen to think their formula misses completely, whereas coalesce have a sharper edge.

TheGooseTavern 12.13.14	I know it's not only about lyrics, the music of PTW and KSE, don't make me look twice, nor make me listen twice, or catch me off guard (i.e. you play ball like a girl!). The atomsphere Botch create on We Are the Romans is yet another miss for me. It didn't get me all fired up like it has for everyone else. There's a sense of meandering and a wasting of time on that record.
