| Iron Maiden Ranked
See title. | 15 | | Iron Maiden Virtual XI
Shit album. | 14 | | Iron Maiden No Prayer For The Dying
Sucks. | 13 | | Iron Maiden The X Factor
Not terrible, but not particularly memorable either. | 12 | | Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark
Last decent 90's Maiden album. Not really worth much of a listen minus the title
track, which rules. | 11 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
Pretty good, but gets points knocked off due to that awful, awful album cover. | 10 | | Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Maiden's most recent release at the time of this writing, and still more lively and
energetic than most modern bands. | 9 | | Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death
Not as good as Brave New World, but still a fantastic album in its own right. | 8 | | Iron Maiden Killers
Last Di'Anno album, and while I do think it's fairly underappreciated, compared to
the rest of the classic Maiden albums, it just doesn't quite compare. That doesn't
mean it isn't a badass album, though. | 7 | | Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
One of the first NWOBHM albums that really revived the old metal scene, and one of
the greatest debuts ever. | 6 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind
My least favorite classic-Bruce era album. I haven't listened to this one in a while,
so I might be a little too harsh on it, but this is still by no means a bad album, and I
intend to listen to it again sometime very soon. | 5 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
Formerly my favorite Maiden album, this is now demoted to #5, but that doesn't
mean that it's a bad album. It's probably the most influential Iron Maiden release,
and there are some fantastic tracks on this one. But Maiden's later work proved to
be far more impressive. | 4 | | Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time
Probably the most 80's of the 80's Maiden albums. It probably isn't quite as
impactful as The Number of the Beast or the self-titled, but I still dig the shit out of
this one. Some of my personal favorite tracks include: Caught Somewhere in Time,
Wasted Years, Stranger In A Strange Land, and Alexander the Great. | 3 | | Iron Maiden Brave New World
An album I have a personal connection to, because it was one of the first "true"
comeback albums from a legendary metal band, a feat that Black Sabbath didn't
accomplish until 2013 and that Judas Priest might have never even managed to pull
off at all. This LP restored my faith in the band, and showed that these guys had no
intention of stopping anytime soon. Fantastic fucking album. | 2 | | Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Proto-Progressive Metal. The final part of Maiden's early experiments, before they
fell to pieces in the 90's. Every part of this album is perfect: Bruce's vocals, Dave
and Adrian's guitarwork, Steve's bass, and Nicko's drumming all comes together to
create one of the greatest progressive metal albums of all time, alongside Operation
Mindcrime and Metropolis Part 2. | 1 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave
For its overrated status, this is still probably the finest gem in Maiden's collection.
When it comes down to it, this and Seventh Son are easily interchangeable for #1
and #2, but this album was and still is the pinnacle of Maiden's original, classic,
NWOBHM sound before they started exploring proggy territory and whatnot. It'll
always hold a special place in my heart. | |

05.24.14 | I would put 6 in the top 5. | mandan
05.24.14 | I'd put 8 and 7 higher. Not the biggest fan of 1 on the site, although I shall concede that opener/closer combos was one of Maiden's strengths, and 1 certainly has that. I've just never dug the midsection. | Killerhit
05.24.14 | dude i pretty much agree but take away 3 and 2 from the top 5, replace em with the first two albums | mandan
05.24.14 | Haven't heard 3 in a long time. Or anything else past SSoaSS for that matter. | Killerhit
05.24.14 | never liked 3 | Snowdog808
05.24.14 | Just stay clear of most 90s Maiden. | ExplosiveOranges
05.24.14 | None of these albums (minus the ones from the 90's) are really "bad", they're just not as good as the others. | NordicMindset
05.24.14 | 1 is 1 | Snowdog808

At least, I don't recall ever being a fan of Powerslave's midsection. | Dewinged
