Vaporwave! where have you been all my life. avon, rainforest suite, and if i tell you
that i'm happy are all locos. whole album is an experience. ambiet, samples, great
drums (guy used to be a drummer). really expertly produced.
2Ben Frost
A U R O R A

impressive how he can take noise/ ambience and morph it through a membrane of
beats and melody. nolan and venter are exquisite

14Morgan Delt
Morgan Delt

rejoice the proper follow up to Lonerism is here
15Cult Leader
Nothing for Us Here

pretty evil, looking forward to an LP from the ex-gaza bros
16Lo-Fang
Blue Film

excellent for a debut. looking forward to where he progresses. poppy electronic
soul, some folk elements too
17Badbadnotgood
III

this might fall. i feel like these guys are pretty solid overall but manage to write songs
that are better than their overall abilities. first album of originals kind of fits with what
they've been doing. solid
18Saintseneca
Dark Arc

my wife likes this so it should be an underground indie folk smash hit (usually a good
indicator)
19Dutch E Germ
IN.RAK.DUST

ELECTRONIC MUSIC! ~ ! ~ eww electronic plz be more specific
20Torn Hawk
Through Force of Will

pretty cool / noisey disco. love this years disco revival
21Lantlos
Melting Sun

every band like this is obsessed with sun/ whatever imagery. lantlos just says f it this
is melting sun. apparently this isn't as kvlt as their previous stuff. whatever it's cool
22Ava Luna
Electric Balloon

weird take on soul but cool
23St. Vincent
St. Vincent

feel like i should like this more than i do
24Lord Mantis
Death Mask

seems like they try a bit too hard to be shocking. at least they make really good
blackish sludgeish metal
25Cities Aviv
Come To Life

crazy good beats. his tone is a bit too goofy for me to really get into the rapping.
very solid
26Freddie Gibbs and Madlib
Pinata

finally it came out. it was pretty good - lib's production is more on the tame side of
his repertoire though. oh well at least gibbs is a sick mc
27A/T/O/S
A/T/O/S

another record i should probably love but hasn't clicked. a bit too laid back i guess
28Krusseldorf
Fractal World

dowtempo and pretty good at building up a dreamy atmosphere. worth a few listens.
29Todd Terje
It's Album Time

more nu disco. good stuff. might go higher we'll see
