Typhoner 05.22.14	yeah, I was stoked because of all the trailers (which all looked great) and after because of the reviews. I'd say it's as good as First Class (which I loved), with the bonus that you get some favorites from the first trilogy.

Lord(e)Po)))ts 05.23.14	ok just to clear everything up for those saying the original trilogy/the franchise is the best or worst thing ever you are all objectively wrong and here is the truth the original trilogy kinda sucked. aside from some great actor choices (that balanced out all the awful onces) the movies were a horrible flop. Two was the best of the 3. The whole movie franchise has suffered from Americanizing their characters and also trying to be too dark. For instance, turning iceman into a moody prettyboy (fuck this so hard) and then also making literally all the foreign characters not foreign at all and not even have accents. But aside from all the HUGE casting fails (iceman im looking at you mother fucker, same with jean grae and cyclops and arguably rogue although ive come to find anna paquins version kind of endearing) they have also cast some actors where no one else could fit (both old and young xaviers and magnetos, wolverine, kitty pryde, both beasts, jlaw as mystique, whoever the fuck that kid who played quicksilver was, nightcrawler) ok carrying on so the original trilogy on its own sucked dick, and origins wolverine sucked all the dicks ever to escape from anyones trousers and the wolverine was a mix of fun and nah but first class was amazing (minus how much i hate accentless emma frost) and this new movie, days of future past is the movie that tied all these shitty to average to amazing movies together in such a way that it makes all of the films worth while even the worst of them. best x-men movie by far, they pulled the trilogy together in the most satisfying way ever and all the cameos from the characters from like every movie in the franchise as well as the references and flashbacks to other films were executed amazingly. every one who was hating on quicksilvers "costume" can fuck off that was so perfect for his character and the overall mood of the movie (so many 70's jokes). they also had a lot more comic relief which was great. yeah really stoked on this ones, i loved the new spider-man movie but this blew it out of the water ten fold 5/5 would watch again super stoked for APOCALYPSE (if u watched the post credits scene)

Lord(e)Po)))ts 05.24.14	@eric just because you dont like it doesnt mean it needs to die. i didnt read it yet but i will later but just off what you said, "over-saturation" seems stupid. who cares how many they make? you don't have to go see them. so they need to die so the people who want to see them can't? That seems silly to me. Granted they make some shitty movies. Lots of them. As an avid comic fan i can attest to that. And you're wrong about the fanbase on two levels, first they are not small. Marvels fan base is massive. Secondly, they won't eat it up. In fact most comic fans are the biggest haters in the world when it comes to new comics and tv series and film. Its actually despicable how negative they can be. Its the people who aren't actual comic fans but more casual fans who eat it up because they don't have anything to base it off. For instance any one who likes the original spider-man trilogy or iron man 3 probably has never read an iron man or spiderman comic in their life or even watched the golden 90's animated series of both (well, season 2 of iron man the animated series, the first season was crap). But yeah you should reconsider some of your facts there man because it seems like you have a pretty skewed perception of the marvel/dc community. Also, on a smaller level, if i'm strictly speaking for myself, i don't go all fap happy and go spend all my money on everything dc or marvel releases, just what i want to see. that being said im not upset that they release the films i dont want to see, who cares, just don't go see them ffs! i didn't go see either thor movie, the green lantern movie, the second captain america movie, iron man 3, the wolverine, first class, or spiderman 3 in theatres. and im not gonna be watching agent carter just because its a new marvel show cuz it looks fucking stupid.

Typhoner 05.24.14	Basically agree with what Pots said. The original trilogy had great points and some serious flaws but as a whole the X-Men movies are so lovable because some parts are just so great. And then with First Class they basically nailed it with great casting and a movie that was just so much fun. DOFP continues with the best characters from First Class, adds some of the best from the original series (Old Magneto and Xavier, Kitty, even Wolverine I like a lot in this one) and then they drop some nice extras (Quicksilver was great) and tied everything up. Although as a stand alone movie I still prefer First Class I think, DOFP shows they're on the right track with the movie franchise (and the main "young" cast return in Apocalypse, so that's promising).
