05.17.14 | I'm going to shamelessly plug my own music:

05.17.14 | That's exactly what I'm looking for NorthHouse. Haven't seen you around too much lately, glad to see you're still kicking it.
Honestly, I'd record some music like this but I don't own an acoustic. Just my bass, lap-steel, gretch hollowbody and a couple harmonicas and jaw harps. |

05.17.14 | Sweet man. There's some total ambient later on in the album, and other little genres I tried to throw into it. Hopefully you like it alright. It's not perfect, but I like it better than my first release hahaha.
But yeah, I've not been on too much. Life's been busy, and I haven't had as much time as I used to.
Definitely pick up an acoustic, it's worth it. I have a banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, and a few other odd instruments (I ordered a Seagull Merlin yesterday, too). But, none of them are played even close to as much as I play my acoustic. |

05.17.14 | Yeah, most of my money lately has been funnelled into upgrading my amp and building a proper huge pedalboard for my band, so I haven't had a chance to pick up an acoustic, but I definitely want to grab one, and some more Appalachian folk instruments. It's just hard finding shit like that for a dece price in Australia.
I remember finding some weird side project playing a droney country called Western Skies Motel once but it seems to have disappeared from the internet. |

05.17.14 | Yeah I hear you there hahaha. I just bought the Zoom G3X (which I highly recommend by the way, if you want a real good multi-effects pedal with a built-in looper for like 200 USD). I've recently picked up a lot of new microphones and a new electric guitar. So I'm trying to build up my electronics department, I've spent too much money on my acoustic instruments hahaha.
I recommend Yamaha acoustic guitars, they're pretty affordable and hold up great. Washburns are nice too. I don't know how affordable either of those are in Australia though... lol.
Interesting, I'll have to see if I can track them down. That sounds pretty cool. There's a band called Lord Buffalo that you might like. They're similar in style to Wovenhand. |
North0House2
05.17.14 | I also recommend Barn Owl's material. |
North0House2
05.17.14 | And Pygmy Lush, more or less. They're more folk than country, with a little bit of indie in there, but they make some of the best tunes around. |
Butkuiss
05.17.14 | Yeah, I've got a pretty decent pedalboard now, so I won't need a multi, but I had to invest a couple thousand dollars to get there. Yamaha and Washburns are pretty great, but I've never really played acoustic before, so I'm going to shop around a while before I decide.
Will check out. Thanks for the recs brah. |

05.17.14 | It's just a shame more bands don't do the whole droney/found sound/ambient country thing Woven Hand did on Blush Music. That album is incredible. |

05.17.14 | no drone cuz drone sucks but brother dege is some good stuff |

05.17.14 | 1 is brilliant, so is their debut and most of 16 horsepower |

05.17.14 | If you haven't checked out Lilium you should probably do it, it's the other two blokes from 16HP iirc. |
TwigTW
05.17.14 | You might want to check out Timber Timbre - Hot Dreams. It's more light-ambient-folk than dark-ambient-country-
drone-folk but it fits in with what you are asking for . . . The new wovenhand is great too.
