10 Mindblowing Songs

So I was really bored last week and I decided to rtake a look into my past and choose 10 songs that, rin one point or another, changed my life somehow. rThis list doesn't have an specific order. rRegardless of the genre, all of those songs are r5/5 (in my opinion, of course) See for yourselves.
1Slice the Cake
The Siren's Song

This song is just perfect and I believe everyone agrees with me in this. This
was
the song that introduced me to a lot of stuff past year and my quest in search
of
good music started with this song.
2Farewell, Mona Lisa
The Dillinger Escape Plan

This song has so many highlights throughout itself that I couldn't pick just one
moment in the song. Everything here is amazingly executed, TDEP at their best.
My love for mathcore started with this song and that's something that defines me
nowadays.
3o'er the flood
goreshit

This is the one you guys don't know. Best breakcore song I've ever heard. With
this, I learned that music isn't about genres and structures: music is all about
the
way it makes you feel. This song is simply beautiful and I would gladly
recommend it
to everyone here, even though most of you guys aren't into electronic stuff.
4Iowa
Slipknot

This is just wow. 15 minutes of "raaawr" "aaargh" "yaaargh" and shit. I know
many
people dislike this song because it's long and it looks like it's filler, but
you have to
let yourself go when you hear this. You need to get inside Corey's mind. I heard
this song thanks to a friend of mine, and I have to say this taught me
something:
lyrics aren't always neccesary. Sometimes you need to make your way inside the
song, you need to be the song, you need to stop listening looking for things to
criticize and just start feeling the vibes.
5The Dance Of Eternity
Dream Theater

"Love is the dance of eternity" says the end of Metropolis, pt. 1. Well, this
isn't
love, but if it were, I'd be very happy with that feeling. This song is prog
metal at
their best, it gets you deeper into the journey that is Metropolis, pt. 2, and
this
reassured the knowledge I acquired with Iowa. The things you can feel with this
song are endless.
6Accept And Embrace
Maybeshewill

We all create stories of our own with post-rock songs. And this is one of the
few
songs that really get me that way. Music has the power to change the way you're
feeling, and this is a really good example of that statement. Also, this band
was the
one that got me into post-rock.
7Disengage
Suicide Silence

I can see a lot of hate coming over for this choice. Well... this was the first
-core
song that I could listen to start to finish without eerie feelings. Another
example
that sometimes you have to let yourself go in order to enjoy some kinds of
music.
My music tastes have changed since the day I first listened to this, but I have
to
say this song is still one of my favorite ones.
823
Jimmy Eat World

I listened to this song at the right time in my life and I really thank that.
This song
just said to me "I'm here to cheer you up, dude" because hey, music doesn't
leave
you, you'll always have your headphones whenever you're sad or angry or just
happy. This song is a masterpiece and it really helped me get through a lot of
stuff.
Nothing can erase that.
9Dreaming With A Broken Heart
John Mayer

You know, last year I was a very close-minded scene guy after my first
experiments with bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria and post-
hardcore overall. And I was a pain in the ass with my music tastes. I was right,
everyone else was wrong. Until I heard this song. This blew my mind, literally,
it
opened my eyes to all kinds of music (again, I should say) and helped me realize
you can't always be right, in a weird way. Also, it's beautiful. The piano still
gives
me chills.
10Heart Shaped Box
Nirvana

I don't really need to explain this one, but... come on. This was one of the
songs I
first listened overall. And when I heard this, I knew I wanted a guitar. I knew
I
wanted to learn to play. This song, in some way, made me the man I am today;
probably I wouldn't be even able to play guitar nowadays if it weren't because
of
the inspiration this song gave me.
