menawati
05.06.14 | like your intro again, you really should write more reviews |
Friday13th
05.06.14 | thanks mena! yeah I need to find more time. I enjoy doing it and I have a list of albums that need reviews but eh I get lazy. |
insomniac15
05.06.14 | even though I am a fan of Earthless this Ozric Tentacles is better. I vote for them! |
menawati
05.06.14 | only heard cosmic sky from earthless which is good and maybe 5 or 6 ozric records not including that one so going to be all new for me this pairing |
emester
05.06.14 | Remember liking earthless quite a lot. Ozric's gonna have to be pretty good to change my opinion |
manosg
05.06.14 | Not a big fan of any of those but I'll go with Ozric Tentacles on this one. |
JamieTwort
05.06.14 | I vote Earthless. |
TwigTW
05.06.14 | Come on Spooky, be my friend--and vote for Earthless. |
zakalwe
05.06.14 | I standby my sound off for Earthless.
Ozric is sending me through space time at the min. Awesome stuff. |
TwigTW
05.06.14 | Fair enough Spooky, that album is all about the guitar solos. |
TwigTW
05.06.14 | best sound off Zak |
zakalwe
05.06.14 | Cheers dude. I haven't spun the thing for awhile but it rules, going to be a tricky one this. |
SharkTooth
05.06.14 | how can we experience this like hippies if we don't have LSD? |
menawati
05.06.14 | fuzzy wah jams of 2 get my vote |
MrSirLordGentleman
05.06.14 | Grab some shrooms from your backyard Shark |
SharkTooth
05.06.14 | just started 1, and it's a wtf in the best possible way |
Jethro42
05.07.14 | Not a big fan of any of those[2]
For Earthless, nothing special happens except that samey heavy sounding all the way through, and Ozrick Tentacles display as many silly electronic effects as possible, which is not pleasant for the ear, but it's nonetheless better than Earthless. My vote goes for Ozrick Tentacles. |
SharkTooth
05.07.14 | Totally |

05.07.14 | Music died in 1492, America destroyed it |
JamieTwort
05.07.14 | Damn Jethro, I can understand not liking Ozric Tentacles but Earthless are awesome. Hard rocking, jam based psych at its
best. |
Jethro42
05.07.14 | Really? If you say so, I'm ready to listen to it again and who knows if I change my mind, but I'm afraid it's gonna do the same effect to me. My issue is that kind of omnipresent heavy wall and the lack of variation. |
TwigTW
05.07.14 | I agree. It is a “heavy wall” of sound, and there is no variation.
I like the wall of sound, and I like the never-ending guitar solos too, but a little variation probably wouldn’t have hurt the album, but . . . when I am having a “Woodstock moment,” this is exactly the album I want to hear.

05.07.14 | I hardly consider 3's "not liking" it's just not something I'd keep coming back to. |
JamieTwort
05.07.14 | @Jethro:The lack of variation is part of the band's style. It's meant to take you on a trip through a whirlwind of constant guitar solos and heavy riffs.
I understand if it's not really your thing though. |
Jethro42
05.07.14 | @JT, at my next listen, I'll keep on mind that all the attribute of the album are intentional from the band, so hopefully I'll be able to see the album from a new angle. But yes, my first impressions are not quite good. @Friday, during my new listening, my vote remains with Ozric Tentacles. |
MeatSalad
05.07.14 | gonna go with 2, it rocks
ozric is good and all but |
Jethro42
05.07.14 | After a careful listening, I have a preference for Earthless. I will not buy neither one or the other though. Earthless finally. |
zakalwe
05.07.14 | Going to go with Ozric. An album that is a brilliant, genuinely unique listen without being a steamer is worth it's weight in gold. |
Friday13th
05.07.14 | that riff at the 39 min mark of Earthless is sweet |
Friday13th
05.07.14 | still leaning towards Ozric though. EDIT: Officially going with Ozric. When it doesn't sound like
danceable arcade music, it's actually pretty good. Earthless is a cool jam but way too long with
little variation. |
SharkTooth
05.08.14 | Shit this is the hardest one yet, 1 is hypnotizingly awesome, while 2 is something I can rock out to...
I love both just as much, but at an objective standpoint I'd have to vote 1 due to sheer diversity....
but I'm gonna jam both just as much |
TwigTW
05.08.14 | Ozric is a nice album. It definitely grew on me, but I’m voting for Earthless. |
Friday13th
05.08.14 | 6 to 5 right now. You have a few hours left! |
Friday13th
05.08.14 | CLOSED. Ozric Tentacles wins by 1 vote. |
