MalleusMaleficarum 04.27.14	PS4 gets my vote because its all about the games and less about the other bells and whistles. However, Sony disappointed me greatly when they announced the console price was being raised by $50 in Canada, several months after its release. Prices of games/accessories went up for both consoles. 69.99 for a game. 64.99 for a controller. Craziness I tell ya!

theacademy 04.27.14	playstation = gameplay and storytelling nintendo = gameplay only xbone = neither, really nintendo's focus on gameplay alone is a driving force for the console market in general (and that's fine and cute if you're a dad or in middle school) but i don't see how any discerning gamer can contest the notion that nintendo doesnt give a fuck about storytelling anymore. it's exclusives are all innovative in the sense that they innovate the same universes over and over again (which some harsher critics might call "rehashing"). and yea exclusives are the biggest determinant (especially when you look at how last generation played out) but there are other spheres that evidence this. 1. commitment to third-party/multiplat publisher development (this is a double-edged sword and i can go into more about this but im sure nobody wants me to) and 2. openness to indie devs. Nintendo really shit the bed on both of these. also, even if you ARE one of those idiots who buys new hardware and plays old games on it (i, myself, am one of those insufferable nostalgic fucking assholes myself) the virtual console on nintendo is a travesty.

Now seriously, is too soon to make conclusions considering the limited amount of games released for both ps4 and xbox one, besides I had issues with my ps4 playing killzone; wii U had good stuff but I want more games.
theacademy 04.27.14	i think the best course of action is to just get a Vita and ps3. rock that combo and up your trophy count so by the time you level up your whole life and get a ps4 you'll be a total fucking G another good idea: ps move never really took off but was actually really awesome for rail shooters. so all that shit is really cheap now. get a move controller and the gun peripherals and then get house of the dead overkill and dead space extraction. both A+
emester 04.27.14	In all honesty, The Wii U really feels like the only true "Home Console" on the market. While the PS4 (which I do have) and the Xbox Juan are impressive, they still feel like nothing more than a lower to middle range PC. The Wii U still offers a unique experience that keeps gaming as the main function while the two other consoles are nothing more than these multimedia machines or essentially a PC. Don't get me wrong, the PS4 and (to some degree) the Xbox One are impressive machines, just they feel like the same product just with a different company backing each product. The Wii U however, even with its MANY faults, is still a unique console that does provide buyers with the most genuine gaming experience in the current gen. Nothing wrong with a powerful gaming PC either.

theacademy 06.26.14	how has it been. I would own one already but my internet connection is prohibitively slow so i've held off on buying it
MalleusMaleficarum 06.26.14	My only complaint so far would be the length of downloads. My internet connection is well above average; downloads fly on my desktop or my iPad, but I downloaded a few demos from the PS4 and it took longer than it should have. The console itself is fast though. Boots up fast, screen navigation is fast, console browser is quick and easy to use, the share features are amazing and the console is whisper quiet. The console will install software updates and such overnight if you leave it on standby, which I've been doing a lot. I'm not a Playstation Plus member yet so I can't comment on online multiplayer. Also the controller essentially feels weightless in your hands which is a great feeling for me coming from the heavy set 360 controllers
