GuanoBumbershoot 04.27.14	No one else has added anything less predictable, unless you consider Lynch, Anderson, Malick, Coen Bros, other popular cinephile movies unpredictable.
TheBarber 04.27.14	It's def not perfect, as usual with Wes Anderson Budapest's cinematography is just about perfect (maybe too perfect, too ordered at times) with a wide sense of generosity and scale; but with Budapest something within the narrative stops the film from being truly great and just pretty damn good instead. We have such a gigantic setting wich so many actors (most of them, no matter how known, are useless and really just "stars" for the trailer that aren't even given more than 30 seconds to shine) and all of it is underused by the story that isn't even half as ambitious and rewarding as what's promised. I do like the movie but it lacks the kind of thoughtful and magical spark many of Wes's flicks like Moonrise kingdom have

scottpilgrim10 04.27.14	I love the narrative of GBH, and it seems like Wes was able to perfectly balance the whimsical tone of his former films on a larger scale with grand epic scenery. It was an extremely joyous movie going experience for me, and that really doesn't happen too often. The score is also spectacular, I stuck around to watch the credits just to listen to the music. The only thing I agree with you on is that the guest apparances weren't used that well, but what the celebrities lacked Ralph Fiennes more than made up for with his captivating performance as mr. Gustave. I also like that the film was pretty dark at times, while never upsetting it's delightfully quirky tone.
