Bands Youve Seen Live

Here's the bands I've seen live ranked. Not necessarily by how much I like the band, but how good the overall show was.
1Tool
Aenima

Not only is Tool my favorite band, and they played a great set, but their live shows kick ass. The lights show was cooler than I even thought possible, the variations Tool does with their songs are great, plus everyone screaming the lyrics together is amazing.
2Queens of the Stone Age
...Like Clockwork

Saw these guys recently and damn, Josh Homme is a badass. He is one of the most entertaining individuals to see. He interacts with the crowd, his mannerisms are simply entertaining, and his voice is as good live as in the studio versions. The extended versions they do of their songs live is also great.
3 Circle Takes The Square
Decompositions: Volume Number One

Saw these guys (and girl) last night. The reason this show was so great was because of how small it was. Small venues with dedicated fans makes for extremely personal and memorable shows. As a drummer I was of course thoroughly entertained and mesmerized. But Drew Speziale made took the show to another level, the dude is bursting with energy.
4Iron Maiden
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

This is where I have to remove my bias, as I am honestly not a huge fan of Iron Maiden, but dear jesus do they put on a show. Bruce Dickinson is another amazing frontman, and the props they have are just insane. They sounded great for how old they are (saw them in 2012).
5Coheed and Cambria
The Afterman: Descension

I saw these guys just after they released Descension, they also opened for Iron Maiden. Despite them being one of my favorite bands of all time, their live shows are really only good if you're a huge fan like myself. Everyone there was shouting the lyrics.
6Rush
Moving Pictures

I saw Rush on their Time Machine tour. This is another one where if you're not a huge fan it might not be that great. When I saw them they played Moving Pictures from beginning to end, which was fantastic, and they sound flawless, but they really don't do much in terms of making it flashy.
7 Between the Buried and Me
Colors

I don't know how much this counts as they played a very short set opening for Coheed and Cambria, but I just wanted to include this on the list because they put on a great show and they sound amazing live, along with Russian Circles.
8Buckethead
Crime Slunk Scene

There's not much you can do as a true solo artist. He doesn't tour with a band, but for what it is, he's pretty entertaining live. I've seen him twice, but you can only take aimless guitar shredding for so long. The dude's freakishly tall though and can move in extremely weird ways that compliment his strange aesthetic.
