Favourite Dance Albums
1Leftfield
Leftism

One of those rare dance albums that you can sit down and listen to as well.
Rhythmically powerful and musically complex. This albums truly shows how house
music can become an artform.
2The Prodigy
Music for the Jilted Generation

The Prodigy's masterpiece. Faster and more melodically complex than the excellent
'Fat of The Land'. 'Voodoo People' is my favourite electronic dance song of all time,
the surrounding songs are excellent as well.
3Orbital
Orbital 2

I have owned this album for a long time, even prior to getting into dance music.
Now that I am working my way through the scene I have come to the realisation
that this is one of the very best. There are parts of this album that completely
capture the experience of dancing the night away with a brain filled to the brim
with serotonin. A true hymn to joy if ever there was one.
4Goldie
Timeless

I have got a particular soft spot for Drum and Bass and this album encapsulates all
that I love about the genre in a single track (the legendary title track). Atmosphere
with a surge of raw adrenaline, what more could you want?
5The Chemical Brothers
Exit Planet Dust

An album for the perfect night out. A wide range of different styles from
hyperactive big beat to soothing chill out. Magnificent.
6Infected Mushroom
IM The Supervisor

Heavy beats mixed with warped psychedelia. Count me in on this one. 'Stretched' in
particular gets me going.
7Daft Punk
Homework

Heavy and surprisingly simple. Some of the most addictive bass-lines that I have
yet to come across in music.
8The Prodigy
The Fat of the Land

Not as good as MFTJG yet still a masterpiece. More rocky and in your face but is
that necessarily a bad thing?
9Primal Scream
Screamadelica

Ok some purist may not like this too much but who can deny the rhythm? 'Slip
Inside this House' is one of the best psychedelic dance songs ever recorded and
who can deny the appeal of 'Don't Fight It, Feel It' or the classic 'Loaded'?.
10Hallucinogen
Twisted

If you are feeling like getting really fucked up and leaving your ego at the entrance
to the club then this record is for you. A record that truly lives up to both its own
namesake and the namesake of its creator.
