Volta Album Battle.

Which album do you enjoy more and why?
1The Mars Volta
Frances The Mute

Frances is an amazing record; their finest achievement in my opinion. Definitely a step up from deloused, musically and lyrically. The first time I spun it I was hooked. The opener, "Cygnus...Vismund Cygnus" just reels you in with such an eclectic sound that sets the tone for the rest of the record. I love the confidence they have on this album; the vocals in a mix of spanish/english/made-up language; the massive salsa/fania-all stars influence creeping in; the classic rock elements; the imagination to create the soundscapes that they do. "Cassandra Gemini" stands among the greatest of prog epics. 5/5
2The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

Amazing debut album. Great because of how accessible it is despite all the complexities of it like the meshing of genres and how the story is told. It does have more of an emotional intensity and the concept is definitely easier to grasp. "Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt" is the tastiest of jams. 4.5/5
