Trip-hop: All Day All Night

Just rambling about my favorite genre
1DJ Shadow
preemptive strike

Andy Pemberton, a music journalist writing for Mixmag, coined the term "trip hop"
in June 1994 to describe Shadow's "In/Flux" single and similar tracks being spun
in London clubs at the time

the trip-hop movement really took off in bristol shortley thereafter. Tricky ,
Portishead and Massive Attack (along with Sneaker Pimps and Morcheeba) were,
in my opinion, the trio of trip hop superpowers. even though adrian thawes kinda
went a little crazy with the fame, that fuckin british motherfucker can rap
3Thievery Corporation
The Richest Man in Babylon

Tricky digressions aside, today's trip-hop has developed into "chillout" . it's
become more "downtempo" -- really smooth on the ears. and thievery
corporation, aka Rob Garza and Eric Hilton are killing it right now. With record
label "Eighteenth Street Lounge Music", sold out shows and a hell of a lot of
friends (see: Karminsky Experience - Exploration

4Bonobo
The North Borders

Simon Green, is truly killing it these days. After 'Animal Magic' , 'Dial 'M' for
Monkey' , 'Days to Come' (a little rambly) and commercial hit 'Black Sands', I
would have been happy with an album that wasn't even as good as 'Dial M', but
with "The North Borders" Bonobo Official somehow took what was already great
and made it better. A lot better
