BMDrummer 03.11.14	Need to get into Zappa, STILL haven't done that yet and I've been telling myself to for about a year now.
InbredJed 03.11.14	These are all great guitarists man, just keep ripping this stuff. Also Melvins is super easy and super fun to play. It can be tough to figure out cause its kinda muddled, but they're my favourite bands to crank my headphones and jam along to at full volume. If you want clear easy to figure-out-by-ear stuff, I'd suggest early Anthrax or Metallica.
ArsMoriendi 03.11.14	Oh, you want easy stuff that's still great? Try Pixies. "Velouria" and "Here Comes Your Man" are both easy and fun songs.
BMDrummer 03.11.14	I could always just never learn and release a record. Just look at the Shaggs. I can also play the drums pretty damn well.

BMDrummer 03.11.14	I'm learning guitar because I've never met another person in my town who likes the same music as me. So if I can play guitar, I can write melodies, guitar will eventually translate into bass guitar as well. I can play drums which is always important. I'll teach myself to do vocals by listening to records a lot and blasting certain things. My plan.

mandan 03.11.14	2 & 3 are great picks. And I'd say Inbred nailed it with Anthrax and Metallica, some of their riffs are super simple. Judas Priest has some easy riffs as well.
CoolCalmJoe 03.11.14	incubus has some really fun songs to play. never been a big creed fan, but mark tremonti has some fun songs to learn as a noobie. Learned a lot of Identity Crisis/Artist Thrice songs when I was young too. None of those are really like your list, but they were fun bands that basically every guitarist at my school learned songs from when starting out.

ZombicidalMan 03.11.14	nice job man, good luck with it. Agreed that Neurosis is super easy, great jams. I'd also recommend Mogwai, more Pink Floyd, Isis, Down, and Weezer. Those are the bands I play along with all the time

OZZGabriel 03.11.14	You could try some John Frusciante or RHCP songs.Frusciante's solo stuff has lots of bar chords (that's pretty much how I learned them).

Guacker 08.12.14	I'm a guitar tutor, you should check these out: The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin (great acoustic chord progressions) The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Blind Faith - Blind Faith (the riffs are pretty simple and they sound great) Fela Kuti - anything (Jazz where the guitar is pretty oriented on the same progression whilst sounding good) Keaton Henson - Birthdays (Soothing acoustics that are pretty beginner friendly) Kyuss - anything (great for heavy distorted training) David Gilmour - s/t (simple like most of Gilmour's stuff but you don't have to be complex to be good) AC/DC - Back in Black (practice this poorly and make sure to play it in every guitar store you enter) Feel free to let me know if you want more
