Neurosis Ranked By Album Cover

I'll be starting from the beginning of Neurosis proper (meaning Souls and beyond), and including only full-length releases. Please enjoy.... Also I don't think any of these covers are bad by any means, just wanted to pit them against each other.
1Neurosis
Times of Grace

It's just a wolf, with a tongue of fire, about to be engulfed in flames. The components of this cover aren't extremely special, but they're executed in the most perfect way they could've been. Simply put, it's a beautiful illustration. It harkens to the bestial quality of Neurosis' sound and has a very organic feel (the texture that was applied to physical copies certainly helped with this). However, the cover's also very straight forward, and is very memorable. This album is the best thing Neurosis ever did in every way.
2Neurosis
Given to the Rising

For the most part, as Neurosis matured, so did their artwork. Here we have a very clean, simple photograph by Josh Graham (who had been collaborating with the band for some time at this point). Again, this one is very easy to remember. The statue itself is in a town square in Romania (if I recall correctly), or some other Eastern European nation, and was simply modified with an impressive pair of antlers made to be tusks, then applied to a plain black background. It's a cover that maintains the right amount of surreality, without going over the top with a good idea.
3Neurosis
The Eye of Every Storm

Another basic format for a cover succeeds. By far the most barren cover on this list, but yet again, it's hard to forget such a striking cover. The fade from pure white to grey is a nice touch, and the hurricane is oddly inviting, which seems appropriate for this being widely regarded as their most accessible work.
4Neurosis
A Sun That Never Sets

This cover is intense to look at. The sheer amount of red and black and grey strokes passing over and under one another is entrancing, and it makes for the densest looking Neurosis cover. I can only imagine the horror we would feel of our own sun looked like this.
5Neurosis
Through Silver In Blood

I really do enjoy the layering of images on TSIB's cover, although it is ever so slightly heavy handed. However, it is a badass cover. Snakes latching on to some deities hollowed eyes and drawing blood? One could argue this being their most "metal" cover
6Neurosis
Honor Found In Decay

This photo was well put together, but all the background accoutrement is really unnecessary for the front cover (it is cool on the lyrics sheet). This one may have been up with TEOES or GTTR if not for that.
7Neurosis
Enemy of the Sun

This cover definitely could've been better. It suffers mainly due to the flames coming off the statue. I don't know how they would've improved them, but if you look at the cover long enough, it just makes it look a bit too copy and pasted.
8Neurosis
Souls At Zero

The of this cover is much better than the original. Mainly because the new version has a completely hand drawn look. It just looks like the photo was thrown together, and the whole snake eating its tail thing doesn't seem that inspired.
