2013 Shows
Shows I went to last year in no particular order. |
| 1 | | Down NOLA
Warbeast opened. My first time seeing Phil live. They played a whole lot off of NOLA. |
| 2 | | Old Man Markley Down Side Up
A free show in Columbus, OH right before they started their run with Dropkick
Murphys. They played for two hours (which was pretty much every song they do,
including a cover of "Forgot About Dre").Joey (the bassist) sang Hot Water Music
songs with me outside the bar smoking cigarettes. Definately A highlight of the
year. |
| 3 | | The Queers Love Songs For The Retarded
A damn fun punk show. Masked Intruder, Teenage Bottlerocket and The Dopamines
opened. |
| 4 | | Bad Religion True North
Missed Polar Bear Club's set, caught The Bronx though. And Bad Religion killed it. |
| 5 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan One Of Us Is The Killer
The Faceless and a Dayton area sludge band, Close The Hatch, opened. TDEP was
damn chaotic and a whole lot of fun. |
| 6 | | Dropkick Murphys Signed And Sealed In Blood
Saw OMM again. It was my first Dropkick show though. They covered "Alcohol" by
Gang Green so I was happy. |
| 7 | | Mac Miller Watching Movies With The Sound Off
Vince Staples, Chance The Rapper, The Internet and Earl opened. Mac had a great
stage presence. He has fun doing what he does and it really shows live. |
| 8 | | The Dopamines Vices
Saw these guys play a few other times during the year. Always a good time, and
usually too many drinks had by all. One show Lemuria played as well and they were
pretty fun. Another they played a free show on Fountain Square in downtown
Cincinnati with fellow local punks Loudmouth. |
| 9 | | AFI Burials
I've always had a soft spot for these guys. I got my first introduction to Touche
Amore as well. Another highlight for the year. |
| 10 | | Alkaline Trio My Shame Is True
Really the only (slightly) disappointing show of the entire year. Missed H2O trying to
find a parking spot. The Trio sounded a bit off at times. Left during New Found
Glory's set. But hearing the new Trio songs made it worth it. |
| 11 | | Every Time I Die Ex Lives
The best overall line up for any bill I saw all year. Code Orange Kids, Letlive. and
Every Time I Die. Each band played their asses off. This was the type of show I go
to shows in hopes of seeing. Pure catharsis, not a single boring moment. |
