02.16.14 | jvc ha-s500s are amazing for their price
the jvc ha-s680s are meant to be even better but they're relatively new and I haven't personally heard them yet |

02.16.14 | clear sound, tight bass, only cot around £40 although you have to import them from japan. but that's the pair I settled on after pretty extensive research on head-fi |

02.16.14 | I would say just make sure whatever headphones you do get don't have the "feature" where they fold, just don't, they have a higher chance of breaking. Or maybe that's just AKG for ya but I'd just stay away |

02.16.14 | Can't go wrong with the sennheiser hd 280's, super great frequency response and incredibly comfortable |

02.16.14 | And cheap, I use them for mixing when I can use my monitors |

02.16.14 | I'd say some of the lower end Grados are a fine place to start. Amazing sound quality for the price. I'd go for some second hand SR-80s and throw some new pads on there if they need it. Keep in mind that these are open-back, so sound leaks both ways...but that's never been an issue for me. You can also expect the full sound potential out of these without any extra amplification (very efficient drivers). Even if you get some higher-tier phones down the road, you'll be glad you have the SR-80s for travel. |

02.16.14 | Not sure if like $250.00 is a good price or not for you though. |

02.16.14 | fuck headphones, im jamming flac using a pair of mackie mr8mk3s studio monitors and an mr10smk3 for a sub. ive heard some people drop $1000 on sennheisers just to listen to music and its like why the fuck. but if youre still convinced you need headphones, get the ath-m35s, $50 |

02.23.14 | Sennheiser hd555. by far the most comfortable headphones i've ever worn (some people gut the pads and use them on other phones because they're THAT COMFORTABLE), and the sound quality is amazing for a $250 set. super well balanced, a little on the bright side but the bass is great.
if you're looking even cheaper, Sony phones tend to be really good for the price as does jvc or meelectronics (I have their m50 earbuds, pretty good stuff)
or just check out head-fi for a bit |

02.23.14 | How about some cheaper in ear sets? |
anarchistfish
02.23.14 | I've heard contradicting statements about the M50s (which is weird considering how acclaimed they
are). Some people say they're a basshead headphone but others say they're extremely neutral sounding
studio monitors. Also heard they have decent soundstage whereas others say the soundstage is 0 and
they just pummel the details of the music into your ears. |

02.23.14 | i'm a dirty liar, i have the m11 earbuds by meelec, my bad
SonofSnow, if you want cheap in-ears, JVC is a good way to go, meelec if you feel like dropping more. my m11s cost me like $45 but they do a good job passively blocking sound. they're also really bright but they pick up a good bit of detail for in-ears. |
