BMDrummer: Who Here Likes Vinyl?

MoosechriS 02.09.14	i started buying vinyl about 5 years ago when i started listening to black metal, i very quickly realised that the amount of stuff only available on vinyl and tape was staggering. So i bit the bullet and started buying, my collection isn't what you'd call huge though (probably got about 100 vinyl & 100 - 150 cassettes) cd's are still the bulk of my collection (around 2000). But yeah i love vinyl

SCREAM! 02.09.14	started collecting about a year and a half (maybe a bit more) ago. I've got probably around 150 or so (stopped counting after 100). Stuff ranging from old rock to metal to jazz and new age and more
ZombicidalMan 02.09.14	started 2-3 years ago, but collection is small. Last time I counted I had 33 records, my favourites being Amplifier Worship, Absolutego, and Panopticon. I haven't even listened to Amplifier Worship, I prize it too much

MoosechriS 02.09.14	^^^^ This, i've spent a fair amount of money on rare vinyl and tapes and the best part of owning them is sitting down cranking the stereo up and jamming the fuck out of them.

akimbo 02.10.14	i love vinyl. most new stuff comes with a download code, and you get artwork and a physical piece of "history," so to speak. i really only buy vinyl from current bands that i like to support and older stuff that i really love. there's something extremely satisfying about putting the needle down, kicking back in my favorite recliner and just getting lost in music. pressing play on my ipod or computer just doesn't give me that feeling.

DominionMM1 02.10.14	online mostly. some of them were relatively cheap (astns, teoes) while others cost me a fuckload (eots original press, tsib).
BMDrummer 02.10.14	I would pay a lot for a Neurosis record if it went directly to them, but I don't really like Relapse Records because of their insane pricing.
DominionMM1 02.10.14	most of my neurosis records were purchased second hand, with exceptions of hfid and the enemy and souls represses. but i had the originals before relapse reissued them. don't ever buy colored vinyl from relapse btw

DominionMM1 02.10.14	they royally fucked up the enemy of the sun red vinyl repress. the black version sounds like it's supposed to but the red is awful. i don't know if it was low quality wax or what but it suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

SCREAM! 02.10.14	You might've just gotten a faulty copy, who knows. I can't really bring myself to avoid all their coloured vinyl because of one faulty one. I don't have any problems with the pic discs I have personally but I don't have "normal" pressings to compare them to either

SCREAM! 02.10.14	i heard somewhere that they ran test and blue wax was found to sound the best but since I don't actually remember where I heard this it could be total bullshit
