Big Black Ranked

My opinion on Big Black's discography.
1Big Black
Songs About Fucking

Most people consider this to be their best album, and they do it for a reason. It has everything on it, and it is all done very well. It even has hints of melody, which is a bit unusual for a band like them.
2Big Black
Atomizer

Yeah, I know I ranked the two LPs highest, but for good reason. This one has less melody and a less accessible sound than SAF, which makes it interesting. It also has what some consider their signature song, Kerosene.
3Big Black
Racer-X

This was their last release with their original bassist, Jeff Pezzati. Every song on here is great, and it shows them evolving into different styles and moving away from strictly post-punk/punk rock. They play more with rhythm here than in their earlier material.
4Big Black
Bulldozer

Steve gets his signature guitar sound for the first time on this EP, which is a large improvement, as well as having a full band. They went strictly Punk Rock here with almost all fast songs, but it stays original with Steve's guitar sound.
5Big Black
Headache

Not as good as Atomizer. Still though, just a solid EP with a mellower sound.
6Big Black
Lungs EP

Steve Albini claims this is the worst thing he ever made for a reason. It is almost too dark to listen to at points, and Steve's signature guitar sound is absent from the album. He claims it was only a calling point though as a way to advertise the project.
