2013 Concerts
These are all the concerts I went to in 2013; a couple of the separate
entries were double headliners but I feel I needed to separate them
because I went for both bands. The rating is based on how much I enjoyed
the show, not necessarily how good the band sounded. |
| 1 | sum 41
7.5/10 Does this look infected and the hits |
| 2 | fall out boy
9.5/10 Saw these guys at the roxy (a 300 person venue) 3 days after they reunited.
one of the best crowds I have ever been in. |
| 3 | maroon 5
5.5/10 I had free tickets; didn't care about the band at all but they sounded good:
Adam Levine can sing. |
| 4 | green day
10/10 My favorite band of all time: thirty song set covering whole discography;
amazing energy, amazing crowd |
| 5 | senses fail
8/10 Buddy might not be the best singer; but the setlist was great and the Anaheim
crowd sang loud. 187 with everyone singing was one of my favorite concert memories
of this year. |
| 6 | John Legend
7/10 Saw him while I was working in Italy at the Umbria Jazz festival. Amazing voice
and long set, but I didn't know too many songs going in so I can't rate it higher than a
7 on a scale of enjoyability |
| 7 | The National
9/10 One of the best sounding live bands I saw this year; lots of the new album but
Mr. November live was one of this year's highlights. |
| 8 | Queens of the Stone Age
8.5/10 Somewhat lame crowd but amazing set that mostly featured the new album
and Songs for the Deaf |
| 9 | touche amore
9/10 Probably the second best crowd I was in this year; Honest Sleep as a closer
was another 2013 highlight. |
| 10 | Jimmy Eat World
8.5/10 One of my all time favorite bands; they sounded amazing and the set was
heavily Futures and Bleed American, which is great. Bleed American live was one of
the best live songs I've seen the whole year; crowd sucked though. |
| 11 | Yellowcard
8/10 All of Ocean Avenue and a 10 song encore made this one of the best pop punk
shows I've seen in recent memory. |
| 12 | Korn
3.5/10 What a bad live band. I enjoy their debut and some of their hits and my
friend had a free ticket so i went. Opening with blind was cool but their set was pitifully
short and the singer was shit. |
| 13 | Thirty Seconds to Mars
7.5/10 Yeah, they're an easy band to hate but I looked past the ridiculousness of
jared Leto's messiah complex and enjoyed the extravaganza and loved singing along
to Kings and Queens |
| 14 | Panic! at the disco
6.5/10 The same show as 30 seconds to mars; I really like their older stuff but the
singer's mic was too low and the crowd was not there to see them. |
| 15 | New Found Glory
9/10 Energetic pop punk gold with a great crowd and almost my dream setlist. |
| 16 | Alkaline Trio
7.5/10 Same show as NFG, they're good live and I enjoy their music but a truly
horrible setlist; mostly just B-Sides and just one song from their pre-2000 era
(Cringe). |
| 17 | Blink 182
9.5/10 The Whole Untitled album! Tom actually sounded good! M+M's and Mutt! |
| 18 | Nine Inch Nails
10/10 The best visual show I have ever seen in my life; 28 songs; and a Fragile
heavy set. |
| 19 | Senses Fail
7/10 Second time I saw them this year; not as good as the first time but having a Let
It Enfold You heavy set was a treat. |
| 20 | Protest the Hero
8/10 I've never seen more crowd surfing in my life. I really liked the song choices
and closing with Blindfolds Aside was great, but too short (only 13 songs) |
| 21 | macklemore and ryan lewis
7/10 Fun show; not the biggest rap fan but I enjoyed this one. Set could have been
longer, but macklemore got into it. |
| 22 | Brand New
10/10 I screamed the lyrics to All of Your Favorite Weapon and Deja Entendu with
100s of others who did the same. |
| 23 | Anberlin
7.5/10 Another band I really like; they sounded great but the setlist was too short.
Godspeed was the highlight. |
