11.27.13 | in my humble opinion atleast |
CK
11.27.13 | Can't say I enjoyed Grapes of Wrath that much. Of course, it was required summer reading, so I bet that made me like it a bit less |

11.27.13 |

TMobotron
11.27.13 | I bet I would love books like this if I read them today, but I mostly hated anything that I was forced to read for school. Being forced to read just takes all the enjoyment out of it. That being said, I enjoyed this a lot more than most. The ending is brutal. |
mytinyvictories
11.27.13 | I almost cried at the end of Of Mice and Men, no shame. |
Italianjesusfootball
11.27.13 | "I almost cried at the end of Of Mice and Men, no shame."
I can second this. I was very close to tears. No shame at all. |
mytinyvictories
11.27.13 | Read more Steinbeck, man. He was a master of his art. |
Italianjesusfootball
11.27.13 | So i've been told, i'll definitely read some more if I get the chance. I enjoyed the dark feel that this book had (if that makes any sense). You just know what's going to happen but you don't want to acknowledge it. |
tom79
11.27.13 | Can't go wrong with Steinbeck |

11.27.13 | Steinbeck was incredible.

Winsomniac
11.27.13 | ASOIAF is okay; I've said this before but GRRM really is a bit too into his stories at this point. His writing is very very good and illustrative, but he simply goes into too much excruciating detail for me at times. I'm not saying by any means his work is bad, but I definitely feel like Brent Weeks (author of the Night Angel Trilogy)'s work tells a tighter and more jarring story. I'm re-reading it right now and the things I'm catching the sound time around are blowing my mind all over again. |
LambsBread
11.27.13 | I've never reread a book that I can think of, something about it vexes the hell outta me.
Yeah i feel you about ASOIAF, too many damn characters, too many settings, overall just too much to remember - like you can remember, but it takes effort, and thats not enjoyable. The world he created there is just so interesting that it makes that flaw kinda hard to notice, until you start reading something else again.
I think ill check out Night Angel trilogy some time, just got a few things to read first |
Iamthe Nightstars
11.27.13 | I just finished reading this book a couple weeks ago, Italianjesusfootball. Great book but the "World's Dumbest" tv show ruined the ending for me. |
Winsomniac
11.27.13 | Was that the Family Guy fiasco? |
Barelybreathing
12.24.13 | The band is good |
