Recent Movie Digs

What movies have you guys dug recently? Here's a list of 5 good flicks that rI've enjoyed in the rpast week
1Circuit Des Yeux
Overdue

The Hitch-Hiker (Ida Lupino, 1953). Great low budget suspense film with two men
driving a psycho hitchhiker, will they make it? Only issue I'd have with it is that it
sometimes suffers from the "overly dramatic music" syndrome
2Ihsahn
Das Seelenbrechen

L'Enfer (Henry-Georges Clouzot and Serge Bomberg, 2009), The actual flick was
never finished and this is actually a documentary regrouping the stories and
reasons why what was supposed to be one of the most amazing movies ever with
an illimited budget never saw the light of day. There's also some actual footage of
what was filmed and one can't help but acknowledge how mesmerizing the little
that we have is. Interesting and well worth curiosity
3Celeste
Animale(s)

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (Terry Gilliam, 2009), What happens when a
cult director decides to make a film so that he and his team can just let go and
enjoy themselves with freedom and good will? You get a marvellous little movie
with Tom Waits playing Satan, a story blending funny and odd characters, wacky
universes behind a plastic mirror and still the usual Gilliam flair for absurdity
holding hands with darkness. Decomplexed and recommended
4Black Pus
All My Relations

Kes (Ken Loach, 1969), If you're from the U.K chances are you're familiar with this
brilliant classic blending rural melancholy with a kid living in one of the most
believable Yorkshire depictions ever. Sad but without ever bullsh**ing you with
exagerations.
5The Legendary Pink Dots
Asylum

Three Ages (Buster Keaton, 1923), Always a pleasure to watch these old slapstick
comedies, especially when it's with one of the sexiest guys on earth proving love
was as prevalent on dinosaurs as it was when Hollywood was actually a dream-
machine
