11.16.13 | Same thing happened to me awhile back, literally days after the warranty had run out. Managed to pull it apart and resolder it though (which I wouldn't recommend unless you know what you're doing), but it crapped out again so I had to fork out for a new one. Did a bit of research at the time and Sony seemed to be offering some kind of deal where you could get it fixed for a capped price, but from what I could gather it wasn't a sure thing. It would work again, but the timeline could be anything from 2 years to 2 weeks before it would fry out again. Long term: just buy another one, or hold out for a ps4 |
