11.04.13 | When I'm on the go I have an Ipod classic. It's an old school one. I buy all of my audio on CD and I buy the stuff I love of vinyl. I listen to CD in the car and vinyl at home for the most part. |
tmagistrelli
11.04.13 | minus the cd that's what I want. If you can do a usb sound deck in your car do it, much better sound then cd. |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | that isn't true. CD's are WAV files. Unless you have your Ipod loaded with WAV files rather than MP3's your going to have a lower sound quality. WAV files are un altered straight from the mastering room sound quality. USB sound deck is just easier. |
climactic
11.04.13 | laptop or 160 gig classic |
KILL
11.04.13 | cds are cda bitch |
tmagistrelli
11.04.13 | ipod holds AAC format which is more uncompressed then WAV format. not only that but a usb is a direct connection, cd is read by laser. |
tmagistrelli
11.04.13 | that is if you do it through itunes |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | CDs are Lossless. WAV is lossless. cda is a generalized term for digital media stored on a cd. |
tmagistrelli
11.04.13 | are you sure you're not thinking of FLAC? |
mindleviticus
11.04.13 | I have an iPod Classic that's full to the absolute brim |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | AAC is equivalent to an MP3. they are much more compressed than wav. get your facts straight. |
KILL
11.04.13 | are you retarded? wav is lossless aac is lossy so |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | FLAC is used to store WAV files online. |
KILL
11.04.13 | i think this dude is trollin ah well

11.04.13 | i sit in hip hop rooms in plug when on the comp or just on my fresh HTC cellular |

11.04.13 | i listen to 128kbps mp3 using ipod headphones on my shuffle and its awesome |
KILL
11.04.13 | damn lloyd that was me when i was 14 no lie we rule |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | shit I was still carrying a CD player around with me until halfway through high school. which was like 5 years ago but still. everybody had like 5th gen ipod nanos and classics back then. |
KILL
11.04.13 | yea i had a gen 1 shuffle thats the only ipod ive ever owned i dont really like listening to music on the go anyway i almost get run over and shit
cant rly go back after i got my kef crestas |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | In all honesty, I bet most people couldn't tell the difference between a 256-320kbps mp3 and a lossless format. |
KILL
11.04.13 | yea depends on how shitty ur equipment is, or how retarded you are
its like tards who cant tell the difference between 30 and 60fps |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | most people couldn't. if you do a lot of recording its pretty easy though. and like kill said if you have a decent set of headphones or speakers it's pretty easy. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | Even with decent equipment it really doesn't matter. A 320 mp3 is so close to sounding like a lossless format that it really doesn't matter for any casual listener... Unless you have some kind of OCD or you're an audio engineer. |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | I'm an audio engineer :) believe me when your running it through a set of 1k$ plus per monitor system you can tell the difference. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | You're the exception. |
lyzakthellama
11.04.13 | same joshua |
Keyblade
11.04.13 | 32 GB phone, not even close to enough so I gotta customize the albums I got on there to the best effect for when I'm on the go. PlayerPro is a sweet lil player too so that's a nice tradeoff. |
KILL
11.04.13 | i can tell the difference, its not HUGE but its there, especially in high dynamic range stuff..with all this modern crap everything sounds like shit anyway |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | agreed so hard kill |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | Yea, with so many bands and producers compressing their music to hell. Brick-walling all the dynamics. A lot of music sounds like shit regardless. There still is a lot of great dynamic music as well, so it's not all shit. |
KILL
11.04.13 | i mean listening to records like steely dans aja and moving pictures in flac is bliss, especially SACD rips ;) |
lyzakthellama
11.04.13 | compression is the most over used element in recording |
joshuahuntkc
11.04.13 | the mainstream trendy stuff is consistently awful. I think a huge problem is the way that engineers choose to EQ as well. They neglect the upper mid range and accentuate the high and sub bass frequencies exponentially. At least that is the mainstream trend for the most part. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | I have middle of the road equipment. I listen through my laptop with a pair of Vsonic GR07s or Sennheiser HD25s... so to be overly concerned about getting all lossless is really redundant for me. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | I don't listen to much mainstream music either... But so much of my Metal is compressed to shit, I must say. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | Double post |
KILL
11.04.13 | you should listen to 80s/early 90s metal, most have awesome dynamics |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | For sure. I think this dynamic issue really started to surface in the 21st century eh? |
KILL
11.04.13 | nah mid to late 90s everythin startin goin real bad |

I haven't listened to any of my CDs in years. I own a few tapes but am not cool enough to have a good set-up for listening to them. |

11.04.13 | headphone setup on the computer: beyerdynamic DT-990's running through a Fiio E17 amp/DAC combo.
also have a stereo system for listening to CD's, records, and tapes. some of the gear is good, some of it isnt. audio equipment like that is expensive. |

11.04.13 | I use my phone so I can scrobble all my songs. I like keeping track of what I play. |
CosmicPie
11.04.13 | "headphone setup on the computer: beyerdynamic DT-990's running through a Fiio E17 amp/DAC combo."
That's a decent little setup. I have a pair of Denon 2000 that I hook up to a Leckerton amp/dac when I don't mind the extra bulk. |
tmagistrelli
11.06.13 | when at home i have a logitech bluetooth speaker that i hook to my computer, i also have UE600 headphones which are incredible
