My Top 10 Favorite Songs
This is a list of my current top 10 favorite songs.
7/28/2006 |
1 | The Mars Volta Tetragrammaton
I'm sure this song will be divided into parts when the album is released (if so, Part A would be my favorite) Although I don't love all 16 minutes, the first 5-6 minutes is probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. |
2 | The Fall of Troy Ghostship Part I
The song is amazing it has a certain feel to it. There isn't a moment in the song that I would change, it's an amaing song, and extremely fun to play on guitar. |
3 | The Mars Volta Eriatarka
My ex-favorite song. This is still, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. I was riding in the car in a 2 hour trip at night, and I played this album. When this song came up, I felt....indescribable. |
4 | The Fall of Troy What Sound Does a Mastodon Make?
7 minutes of beautiful. Every single riff keeps my attention, and the transitions are amazing. A+ |
5 | The Mars Volta Vicarious Atonement
I had high hopes for Amputechture, and when I heard this, all those hopes and expectations were surpassed. A moving ballad which shows off both Omar and Cedcric's talents. |
6 | Coheed and Cambria The Crowing
It's got that sorta feel. An epic song that keeps my attention. I can really feel this song, whenever I listen to it I just...feel it. |
7 | The Fall of Troy I Just Got This Symphony Goin'
I think it's safe to say, that the bridge in this song (on the Self-Titled album version) is the most amazing piece of music that exists...period. Live videos for this song show off how great it truly is. |
8 | Foxy Shazam! Seagulls Over Rhinosaurus Bay
I'm including both parts, as they are basicly the same song. Besides the big epic piano solo, there are really only 4 parts to this song that are repeated once. I love each and every one of those parts. Beautiful, yet heavy, yet a little funny. "HEAVY METAL SUCKS, AND ROCK N ROLL'S DEAD!" |
9 | The Fall of Troy A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama
This song doesn't even have a studio version yet, and it made it to my top 10. I love the live recordings and videos. 9 epic minutes or tempo changes, and other changes. |
10 | Death Cab for Cutie / Coheed and Cambria We Looked Like Giants / The Final Cut
I couldn't choose between the two. We Looked Like Giants is an epic masterpiece, with a brilliant piano lead, and beautiful vocals. The Final Cut is a bluesy type song with an amazing 3 minute solo. Both amazing songs. |
