Corona Capital 2013
Mexico City's very own Corona Capital music fest was held this weekend rand it was fucking rrrAWESOME, here's the shows I went to from best to worst. |
| 1 | | Queens Of The Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
First time they came over, they blew my goddamn mind away, they played a
comprehensive set of amazing songs from their whole career and closed with "Song
for the Dead" with an extended jam at the end. Pure, solid gold right here. |
| 2 | | Phoenix Bankrupt!
I did not expect this guys to rock so hard, I barely liked them beforehand, but their
show was SO GOOD. |
| 3 | | Portugal. The Man Evil Friends
These guys are my favorite band, and I think I got pregnant from their show. |
| 4 | | Miles Kane Don't Forget Who You Are
This guy had so much energy it hurt, he had every single one of us singing dancing
and making a damn mess, and it was ridiculously fun. |
| 5 | | The XX Coexist
This show was drugs for me. |
| 6 | | Arctic Monkeys AM
They played every song I like and the show was a blast, the problem was that there
were so many sodding people there, otherwise, awesome band. |
| 7 | | Imagine Dragons Night Visions
Say what you will about them, but I love them and their show was awesome |
| 8 | | Jimmy Eat World Damage
Their first time here, they rocked everyone's socks off and there are few set closers
better than "The Middle" |
| 9 | | Jake Bugg Jake Bugg
I love this guy and his show was good, but it was plagued by annoying tween girls. |
| 10 | | The Dandy Warhols This Machine
Pretty good show, but I expected a little more from them. |
| 11 | | Blondie Parallel Lines
These guys still rock! I was a little too tired to thoroughly enjoy the show, though. |
| 12 | | Deadmau5 For Lack of a Better Name
Show was really cool but I'm not really into his music, plus his set was kinda sucky,
mostly new songs. |
| 13 | | MS MR Secondhand Rapture
I really like "Hurricane", but I just got a little bored and walked out mid-show. |
| 14 | | Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires Of The City
I never really liked the band, and their show didn't change that. I did dance my ass
off to "A-Punk" though. |
| 15 | | Capital Cities In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery
Eh... |
