| I Played The Dark Souls 2 Beta Last Night.
It was great, but they've added a new addition to the gameplay, where, if you die and become hallowed and then die again, and again without becoming unhallowed, your health starts to deminish. I can just see that being annoying rather than making the game harder. rThe two bosses that I fought were quite cool, but easy. I can see that being like the first Dark Souls when you start off at the asylum and the damage taken isn't so bad, till you move on to the real world. rThe tone of the game reminded me of Demon's Souls, too, which I thought was great. | | 1 |  | Faith No More

10.13.13 | Yeah, it's pretty relentless in that sense. But I'm unsure if it'll come across annoying haha. But, then again, you have a hallow flask, so if there is enough of them out there, it shouldn't really be a problem. It's good how they're pushing you to be unhallowed, because I must admit, I am 9/10 hallowed in DS, as it works in your favour more. Nothing more annoying then being on your way to a boss fight and you get invaded. haha | owen

They've put a hallow flask in the game now (like the health flask), because I think they're are putting a lot of focus on how being Hallow effects you. | Mongi123

yeah I hope they put more emphasis on the whole human/hollow thing. in the first game there was barely any disadvantage to being hollow. you couldn't get invaded, and you could beat most bosses without any help so it didn't matter that you couldn't summon. I think they are trying to make it so you will have an actual reason to go human in this game. | apert

10.13.13 | Exciting. That Hollow dynamic with the health will be a bitch, but eh we'll overcome it. Invasions are fun as hell, I love it when I'm just romping around and someone invades, makes for a lot of fun and tension.

10.13.13 | apert, the area we were allowed to explore was an eerie wood type area with caves and ruined small castles. As I said on an earlier comment, the atmosphere is very much like Demon's Souls -which I LOVED. One thing I missed a little on Dark was it didn't have the same sort of claustrophobic horror atmosphere Demon's had. I'd like to hope all the game sticks to that kind of vibe. |
