20 Favorite Judas Priest Songs

It's been a while since I've given classic heavy metal my attention. Yet when it all comes down to it, Judas Priest is one of my favorite bands. Enjoy! m/
20Judas Priest
Killing Machine

"Hell Bent for Leather" - "There's many who tried to prove that they're faster, but they didn't last and they died as they tried." lol in all their leather glory, this band owned.
19Judas Priest
Killing Machine

"Delivering the Goods" - love that bridge so much even if it is a bit suggestive if you know what I mean
18Judas Priest
British Steel

"Rapid Fire" - Love Halford's performance on this one. You can just feel the bite in his mouth...wait...that's not what I meant!!! Ah I need to stop.
17Judas Priest
British Steel

"Metal Gods" - Song title that is scientific fact? Check.
16Judas Priest
Painkiller

"Metal Meltdown" - It just blows my mind how Priest can come up with so many songs that are just...so...metal.
15Judas Priest
British Steel

"Living After Midnight" - Just sing along and quit your metal elitism. Priest arbuably started commercial metal and they did it best.
14Judas Priest
Sin After Sin

"Let Us Prey/Call for the Priest" -Really underrated early speed metal track.
13Judas Priest
Sad Wings of Destiny

"Dreamer Deceiver" - A nice ballad that shows off Halford's range. He honestly sounds kinda funny low :)
12Judas Priest
Sad Wings of Destiny

"The Ripper" - Really cool song that has Rob Halford letting loose in the drama department. Cool "snakey" riff.
11Judas Priest
Defenders of the Faith

"The Sentinel" - The guitar solo trade off is too mind-blowing for this song to be any lower on the list
10Judas Priest
Stained Class

"Exciter" - A Deep Purplish speed metal song that really put the speed in speed metal. Did I mention it's really fast?
9Judas Priest
Sad Wings of Destiny

"Tyrant" - This one's pretty underrated. It's early speed metal with great riffs, a harmonized chorus, harmonized guitar solo, GOOD BASS PLAYING (an exception for Priest), and a signature metal scream to top it all off. The "Unleashed in the East" version might even be better.
8Judas Priest
Sad Wings of Destiny

"Victim of Changes" - Heavy riffs, man. The length, change of mood, and that one measure in the middle that's in 7/8 or something like that could constitute as early prog metal, but regardless it's a great early peak for the band.
7Judas Priest
Sin After Sin

"Dissident Aggressor" - Along with "Symptom of the Universe," this is hands down the heaviest song of the 1970s. It's almost moshable.
6Judas Priest
Screaming for Vengeance

"The Hellion/Electric Eye" - Not till "Master of Puppets" was there a speed metal song with so many good riffs.
5Judas Priest
Painkiller

"A Touch of Evil" - Such a good chorus, solo, bridge...just awesome.
4Judas Priest
British Steel

"Breaking the Law" - Again, who can deny the timeless eloquence that is "Breaking the law! Breaking the law!" *guitar squeal*
3Judas Priest
Painkiller

"Painkiller" - Tell me if that's not the best, most metal vocal performance of all time. Death's version was good but no one beats Halford. PAAAINKILAAAAAAAA!
2Judas Priest
Screaming For Vengeance

"You've Got Another Thing Comin'" - Their #1 hit is admitedly a timeless metal anthem. If you think I'm going to leave it off this list...
1Judas Priest
Stained Class

"Beyond the Realms of Death" - such an uncharacteristic song for Judas Priest, yet it hits every good attribute of the band. Rob sings at his best (meaning owning everyone...ever), Glenn and K.K. rip through two of their best solos, and even Ian and Les on the bass and drums do a surprisingly respectable job. The lyrics are actually quite gripping. Though I was corrected by someone on here that Black Sabbath's "Megalomania" is the first true heavy metal ballad, this one really does it all for me and paved the way for classics like Iron Maiden's "Children of the Damned" and Metallica's "Fade to Black."
