Seeing Chicago make it to the second round with half their lineup plagued with injuries and strike a win off the Heat during their first game. That was fun. |

09.25.13 | I always rooted for the Heat since my dad took me to games as a boy, it's just a major bonus that they turned into the Yankees all of a sudden and started dominating the world. |

Dwights a good fit for the rockets, i got a feeling he and lin will do some wu-tang shit! |

09.25.13 | I forgot for a moment he went to the Rockets. He will probably mesh better there, because obviously, no Kobe. Harden and Howard could be quite dynamic. |

09.26.13 | "i dont understand why derrick rose didnt play at all last year, i know he was cleared to play even before the playoffs"
after seeing rg3 struggle this year, i am inclined to believe rose made the right decision. he knew he wouldnt be himself if he played. rg3, on the other hand, is also healthy, but he is subconsciously protecting the knee, which is why his throws have been so inaccurate. i believe rose would have struggled in a similar way if he had just played despite knowing that he wasnt 100% mentally. |

09.26.13 | "he fact that they think D-rose is better than lebron is just hilarious."
maybe 1% of Bulls fans i know think that, let alone say it. and I live in Chicago. I still think el BJ's kind of a bitch, but after watching Wade these last few years, it's made me like LeBron a little more (i.e. Wade is just such a joke of a person)
Heat by far have the most talent of any team again this year though |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Wade has become a blatant dick, ill admit. |

09.26.13 | "Lakers Knicks and Celtics will indeed suck dicks but the Bulls win it all this year sorry bro"
if the heat are healthy, the bulls have almost no chance of beating them. miami doesnt even need oden or beasley to win that series, they just need the big 3 to be relatively close to 100%. |
Greyvy
09.26.13 | what if oden is so good he replaces bosh as the 3rd member of the trio.. lool |
treeqt.
09.26.13 | i think the lakers aren't even that bad of a team this season. they still have 3 hall of famers, one of which is at least a top 5 player of all time plus a cast of somewhat respectable roleplayers that all have been pretty good players at some point in their career lol. i mean the whole virgo supercluster has to align meticulously for them to make the playoffs but if they do they MIGHT actually win some games you feel me. |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | I hope that happens Grey. I want to see Oden have one beast year. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | "if the heat are healthy, the bulls have almost no chance of beating them. miami doesnt even need oden or beasley to win that series, they just need the big 3 to be relatively close to 100%."
I disagree with this, the Bulls (if fully healthy) are a much better team in 2013-2014 than they were in 2010-2011 when they met in the ECF. 3 of those 5 games were decided in the last 10 seconds or overtime, the other two were blowouts (one by the Bulls, one by the Heat).
Without a healthy Westbrook, the Bulls and (maybe) Spurs are probably the only ones challenging the Heat this year. Outside chance of Rockets, but it's a big unknown with them for now. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | "I disagree with this, the Bulls (if fully healthy) are a much better team in 2013-2014 than they were in 2010-2011 when they met in the ECF. 3 of those 5 games were decided in the last 10 seconds or overtime, the other two were blowouts (one by the Bulls, one by the Heat). "
the heat are also a far better team than they were in 2011. the talent gap hasnt closed. also remember miami was not healthy during the playoffs this year, so dont go by what you saw then to evaluate them. if wade was healthy they likely would have beaten the pacers in 5 games, and the spurs in 6 games. |
treeqt.
09.26.13 | dubs and nets if they make it to the respective finals have a slight chance of winning 4 games against the heat as well. i don't think it'll happen though because the warriors might still need one or two more years of experience to be a real contender and the nets are the nets lmao. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | "if wade was healthy they likely would have beaten the pacers in 5 games, and the spurs in 6 games."
spurs weren't entirely healthy either... but that's beside the point. expecting wade to be healthy throughout the regular season and/or playoffs is not very realistic at this point in his career. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | @ilovetree i dont think the warriors match up well against a healthy heat team. i have no idea how good the nets will be partly because im not sold on the idea of jason kidd being able to coach a team to the finals in his first year. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | warriors are going to be like a better version of what the nuggets have been the last couple of years. they need an alpha dog though. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | "spurs weren't entirely healthy either... but that's beside the point. expecting wade to be healthy throughout the regular season and/or playoffs is not very realistic at this point in his career."
they pretty much were. parker was still moving the way he always does. wade, on the other hand, was at maybe 50% for most of the playoffs. and wade doesnt really need to be 100%. he just needs to be able to score like 20 ppg and pretty much no one is beating the heat. if oden is healthy as well then wade doesnt even need to do that really. |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Fuck, I really need to meet some new cats for basketball. Only one of my friends now are down to play consistently. Pisses me off. |

09.26.13 | oden has played 82 games across 6 seasons, and hasn't played at all the last two seasons.
i agree the heat look the best on paper but it's not like they're the 96 Bulls or anything |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Sounds like more broken record Pittsburgh Steelers fans living in the past. I kid of course but fuck Steeler fans. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | "oden has played 82 games across 6 seasons, and hasn't played at all the last two seasons. "
they only need him for one playoff series to be honest. he could use the year to recuperate and get back to basketball shape and then only play real minutes in the playoffs.
"i agree the heat look the best on paper but it's not like they're the 96 Bulls or anything"
they dont just look the best on paper, they have won the last 2 championships and have great team chemistry. plus they have an even better roster this year than in years past. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | lol @ pacers winning it all
they are tough though, i'll give them that. and yea Balls, always gotta cling to the MJ years |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Its like the Dolphins clinging to 72. They look good this year, the Fins, at least offensively. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | lol @ pacers winning it all [2] |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | "plus they have an even better roster this year than in years past."
their roster is the same this year as last year, only add more age/injuries to their best players (who are mostly old outside of Bron and sort of Bosh) and add in a guy who hasn't played more than 15 consecutive basketball games since 2007 (when he played like 23 consecutive games) and another guy who couldn't get on the court for lottery teams the last couple of years.
yes they're the best but they're not really any better than they were last year. |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Potentially they are. Beasley and Oden are only 24 and 25. |
dathvada321
09.26.13 | "yes they're the best but they're not really any better than they were last year."
beasley is a pretty sizable upgrade to that bench, plus we dont really know what oden will do for the team. if he contributes, then that is a huge upgrade from last year. it basically means that the pacers have no chance against miami because they wont be able to out rebound them or score in the paint at will. you cant deny tht, when everyone is healthy, this team is significantly better than last year. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | if we're going with those probabilities then you can say Marquis Teague cashes in on the potential that made him a top 5 recruit coming out of high school, and Jimmy Butler takes the next step and turns into the new Andre Iquodala, in which case the Bulls are terrifying. |
Inveigh
09.26.13 | lol i sound like such a dork

lol the only probability is if everyone is relatively healthy.
"lol i sound like such a dork
the bulls bring out the worst in me"
haha dont worry man im the same way with my sports teams |
BallsToTheWall
09.26.13 | Same, every year, mostly I think Carolinas going to do good then they lose creatively at the end. That Seattle game is tough to swallow. |
klap
09.26.13 | Bulls will be 2, maybe 1 in the east if everyone stays healthy but their bench is atrocious and thibs always plays his
starters way too many minutes. plus more decline from boozer + deng has to be offset from butler and gibson
still think indy is the best threat to the heat. feel like heat will win it again but just because of Lebron getting even better
- wade isn't getting any healthier.
thunder out of the west if no one gets injured, although their bench is even more atrocious, possibly houston but hard to
tell at this stage how they will look. |
