Solaire 09.25.13	I was more talking the amino acids that would fall under trace shit thy breakdown protein an build muscle. Also if you become vegan don't load up on carbohydrates to replace the calories. Find protein and fat sources that have a good amount of calories to maintain a healthy diet.

jdennis31 09.26.13	@adarkishman you can probably get upwards of 50-80 grams without meat easily on a vegan diet, and thats not including protein supplementation. 50-80 is ideal for the average person, who doesn't partake in rigorous exercise.

jdennis31 09.26.13	Yea, well any diet program is going to require planning. A bit off tangent, but I think you're underestimating the amount of protein in the things you eat. If you're eating chicken or fish as opposed to red meats there should be no reason this should be difficult to achieve. I'm 225 lbs and get my 1:1 protein ratio and I spend less than $100 on groceries per week. That doesn't include the cost of protein powder though.

adarkishman 09.26.13	idk i just go by what crono-meter says, on days where i don't eat meat im usually around the 50-55g range and that's with nuts, eggs, cheese and milks hey maybe it's wrong though, but according to that most of the fish/chicken (i dont like actual meat that much) i eat comes to around 30g of protein so i get to about 100 for that day lets be honest arent all vegans too busy saving whales or syria to plan for that shit

I don't have the study on hand, so take this as opinion I suppose, but I believe 3.5 oz of cooked chicken breast alone should be about 30 grams of protein. 3.5 oz fish fillet would be about 22 grams of protein. A well balanced dinner alone with fish or chicken, spinach, whatever else to add some color to the mean, should get you 50+g of protein without adding items specifically for protein. I have a site favorited at home that has the protein content for almost any consumable product if anyone was interested.
