09.20.13 | Well Nas' pick for greatest of all time is KRS-One. DOOM samples KRS-One. Eminem studied KRS-One.
No one answered: Where do you rank KRS-One?
The Game is better than Kendrick.
Eminem is easily top 5, if you gonna say hes not top 20 you could at least name 10 who out rank him. I've only heard three CD's of Killer Mike but I wouldn't put him on Eminem's level, but hes close. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Yeah Big L had amazing technique but I still think people are way too obsessed with someone who only made one CD, a lot of artists use all of their skill on their first CD and then flop. But yeah I was wrong about Big L and sounded like a dumbass. I don't have the broadest knowledge of Hip Hop, but the artists I listen to I think I know a lot about. |
dathvada321
09.20.13 | "Kendrick is way better than the game"
absolutely
"and killer mike is 10 times the rapper eminem is"
absolutely not (unless you are referring to their latest works only) |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Game made 4 excellent albums. Kendrick made one and a quarter. The only thing Kendrick beats Game at is rhyming fast (if thats even an attribute) and making pop songs. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Game also has way more solid mixtapes than Kendrick, whose mixtapes are essentially trash imitations of Lil Wayne. |
dathvada321
09.20.13 | please. kendrick is far better than the game in every way. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Dude Kendrick just barely distinguished himself from a bad Lil Wayne imitation less than three years
ago. "far better in every way" ... yet you can't name a single thing he does better from a RAP
standpoint (not POP MUSIC)... lol. Game was Kendrick's prototype, basically all he did was doubletime
the rhyming, dumb it down, and add pop hooks. He made a decent CD (Section 80) and a pop CD and now
everyone calls him best rapper alive... lol hes the new Lil Wayne 100%. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | You sound like you have hardly heard Game at all. Don't judge off of singles... |

"You sound like you have hardly heard Game at all. Don't judge off of singles..."
no.
" yet you can't name a single thing he does better from a RAP standpoint (not POP MUSIC)... lol. "
he has better flow and lyrics. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Damn can't believe I forgot about 2pac lol.... wow... that high... woulda put him 2 or 3.
Dude listen to Kendrick's stuff before Section 80, its a terrible Lil Wayne imitation and he'll admit that. He's got A LOT of talent now but his last CD (same with Game) was poppy, Interscope is killing them both. But Game is/was a legend. Documentary through RED Album, every mixtape/CD is excellent stuff.
Flow is completely subjective. Lyrics no, the entire reason he raps that fast is to not let your mind focus on the lyrics. rappers like Game want you to hear every word and sit and meditate on it. |
PunchforPunch
09.20.13 | LL Cool J |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Anyway they are different styles so its pointless to compare them. But yeah I guess Kendrick has gone past being lil wayne/ Game blend, but when I hear people comparing this new jack to a legend form the same city its like.... wtf |
dathvada321

his old stuff may have sucked, but kendrick's last 2 albums were superb, especially the newest one. it had a couple poppy songs but the album is genuinely amazing overall. i guess i have to check out the game's mixtapes again, but i dont remember being very impressed.
"Lyrics no, the entire reason he raps that fast is to not let your mind focus on the lyrics."
i have never had an ounce of trouble understanding kendrick. his lyrics are great. better than the game imo. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | I think Game's on another level cus Kendrick focuses too much on HOW he raps and not WHAT he raps.
He's so focused on delivery that his lyrics are verbose and sometimes even disingenuous and on the
borderline of corny. Game's more about his message and what his lyrics actually mean, rather than how
they sound. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | Yeah they do (I think) but they also have horrible pop hooks to ruin the verses. |

09.20.13 | "Money Trees" is Kendrick's best song. |
LambsBread
09.20.13 | All im saying is if he stopped focusing so much on delivery he could make more meaningful music that
isn't kinda just repeating himself over and over in a catchy way. He's dope but I still think Game is
doper. Everything from Documentary to RED album is 100% real shit. No bubblegum bullshit. |
Buzzkillr
09.20.13 | lol, kendrick's lyrics are solid. and 2010 k. dot might not be as good as his current music but he still had some dope songs (michael jordan, live again) |

09.20.13 | "Game's more about his message and what his lyrics actually mean, rather than how they sound."
this isn't really a good thing, delivery should always prime on content. it is music after all and not straight up poetry. |
skeames1214
09.21.13 | Kendrick's delivery is awesome, and he's becoming a better lyricist. Clearly the most promising young rapper, in my eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxIhFozsXSk this is one of my least favorite kendrick songs, but he kills it live. |
skeames1214
09.21.13 | shit, really? Well, he's still in his prime, and Good Kid was pretty great. He's probably still got a little room to grow. |

09.21.13 | The Game is pretty lame. I can say that because I used to listen to him, a lot. Documentary and Doctor's Advocate are pretty good, but after that he continue to repeat himself over and over until he stopped at the bottom of nothing |

I don't think Game's a GOAT but hes not a joke at all. He really didn't fall off that hard. LAX still had a lot of great shit on there. RED album was solid with a few bad tracks. Plus probably most of his best shit is underground mixtape stuff like BWS Radio mixtapes, YouKnowWhatItIs Vol 3 and 4, California Republic, Ghost Unit, The Steet King, Stop Snitchin Stop Lyin, The RED Files, Purp And Patron, Purp and Patron the HAngover, Ghost Unit, G.A.M.E. |
