This week's episode was great. That shot of Walt Jr. kneeling to protect Skylar, as Walt stans before them and goes from outraged to ashamed- was powerful. You really see just how much damage he's caused in such little time. |

09.16.13 | that shit was cray
every part of that episode was amazing, also loved walt's call to skyler. it's so refreshing to see a TV show that doesn't explicitly state its character's motives. a shittier tv show would have walt end the call with "i can't beleive i had to say that to protect her" |

the finale moments of season 3 were pretty great, if you didn't end up watching them. I'd say they're definitely worth a view.
As for this season, it's too soon to tell. Boardwalk really takes it's time to get stuff going- which can be either overwhelming or fun depending on the viewer's tastes. I'm a huge fan of Boardwalk, so as such I'd say give it a shot. but if you hate the show's pace, then I doubt this season will change your mind. |
TMobotron
09.16.13 | It's a cool premise and pretty good for a few seasons but yeah i'd never recommend anyone watch the

EDIT: referring to dexter here. |
TMobotron
09.16.13 | nah i didn't hate the show's pace... just lost interest i guess. I'll probably get back into it at some point. Part of the issue is that the shocking moment at the end of ssn 2 kind of ended some of my favorite plotlines. |
SgtPepper
09.16.13 | @Treb
I was a Dexter fan, now I'm mainly sticking around to see it finish. When it comes to Tv shows/movies, I like to finish what I start. Also, for writers, it's sometimes good to see a show like Dexter because you can catch their mistakes and see where and why the show went bad. Noticing stuff like that can help you avoid similar mistakes when you're constructing characters/creating stories. |
SgtPepper
09.16.13 | @TM
Yeah, Boardwalk hasn't been the same since "that particular death', but I think it's still going on strong. I mean, if my word counts for anything, I'd say give it another shot. |
TMobotron
09.16.13 | Yeah I'm still watching Dexter too, I've pretty much lost interest since season 4. I held out hope that it would become good again. Some people thought ssn 7 redeemed itself, I just thought it was less shitty than 5 and 6.
That being said, it's still more entertaining than a lot of shows on now, but it showed a lot of potential in the first seasons and now it's just lazy as hell.

09.16.13 | "when walt was mocking skylar about her moral objections i almost felt like that was a response to people who thought she was just an annoying bitch for objecting to walts behavior."
The whole phone call, but this part specifically, was a way for Walt to make skyler seem innocent to the police. His imitating her voice is sort of out of character for him, which just emphasizes more that he isn't genuine, he's voicing her saying things like "you shouldn't do this. it's immoral, it's illegal" specifically so that the police will think that skyler was opposed to walt's actions the entire time and so that she won't go to jail and the rest of his family won't fall apart. |

I think these next 2 episodes will be him trying to redeem what he's done. The M60 machine gun is to save Jesse from the Nazis's. Still don't know why the house is wrecked and why "Heisenburg" is written on the walls. |
DrMaximus
09.16.13 | No. Fuck redemption. Why is everyone saying Walt is going to redeem himself? He is so far beyond redemption that even if he were to do something good, it wouldn't even come close to making up for what he's done. Also, why the fuck would Walt rescue Jesse? Seriously? The guy put a hit out on Jesse, and if that's not bad enough, he also told Jesse about Jane. What's more is he also gave the go ahead to Jack to put a bullet in Jesse's head. If it weren't for Todd, Jesse would be dead. The idea that Walt is going to rescue Jesse is so unbelievable implausible. |
demigod!
09.16.13 | why do you feel Walt needs to die? 09.16.13 | "morality isn't black and white

maybe at the beginning yeah but there are many points throughout the series where his continued involvement is based on ego and power trip more than family. you can't tell me that there wasn't a point before Skylar showed him the storage unit full of money where Walt couldn't have realized "Hey I probably have more than enough money to ensure my family's well being for several generations, I should probably quit while I'm ahead." and there's the "i'm in the empire business" stuff. he started it for family, but he did not always have pure intentions.

they are both still great shows, and Breaking Bad at least has incredible character development. it's not about having likeable characters, it's about BELIEVABLE characters. i want to think to myself "this seems like an actual, three dimensional human being" like virtually every character on BB. the character development on GoT isn't nearly as good, but the content itself and the storylines make up for it.
i like having hated characters in shows. if nothing else, i'll watch in the vain hope that something awful will happen to them (joffrey in GoT is a perfect example, i fucking hate that guy ugh worst character ever) |

09.16.13 | anyone else notice all the parallels that exist in this show? for instance...
when Gus and his friend Max go to the Cartel to explain what they're doing and Horatio kills Max right in front of Gus... Gus, for all his smarts, never realized that Horatio had made up his mind to do that before the meeting ever occurred. When Max died, Gus fell to the ground in the exact same motion that Walt did when Hank was shot -- even the camera angle on his face was the same they showed Walt with after Hank's death.
If anyone remembers what Gus did to that Cartel afterwards... well then I think you have a pretty good idea what that M60 is for. |
Inveigh
09.16.13 | also the foreshadowing in BB is the best I've ever seen. In the episode where Jane dies, she has a line early on in the ep, "I just threw up in my mouth." 09.16.13 | They might not reconsile completely, but Jesse is going to be the sole survivor and the Horatio of the story I tell you what
The show is going to end with a voiceover of Jesse recounting the events of the entire show. The camera pulls back and Huell is in bed, Jesse is reading him a bed time story

Deathconscious
09.17.13 | apparently the scene where they showed walt in the future buying that machine gun and shit was completely improvised and they had no idea what they would do with it. |
DrMaximus
09.17.13 | I don't like the idea of Walt using the machine gun on Nazis to rescue Jesse. It's too damn predictable, not to mention extremely contrived.
Yeah, this is true Adolf.
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | That info about the improvisation also changes things a bit, I was unaware. I don't see Walt going to "save" Jesse, I think he will be surprised to find him as a slave. But the revenge is almost inevitable. It's predictable but knowing Walt, revenge is coming in some way. I just have a feeling, to appease fans they will have Jesse survive in an indirect way.
But, in the spoilers given by Gilligan a few weeks back he said something about Lydia showing just how horrible she. She was also absent from this weeks episode, so who knows. |
DrMaximus
09.17.13 | There are only two episodes left, so if Lydia is gonna off someone, it'll likely happen next episode. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Yea, I would imagine so. The spoilers for next week don't give much, only that Skyler is facing legal stuff and Saul reasoning with Walt. Could you imagine after all of this, he turns himself in?
His phone call lessens it a bit but she willingly laundered millions of dollars as well as that stuff with Ted. She faces something either way. |
ZippaThaRippa
09.17.13 | See what I was thinking: they wouldn't show Todd developing an affection for Lydia for no reason. The way he held that cup after she drank from it, the way he tries to get her approval. He's obviously really into her.
So lydia comes by to check on the product. See's that it's much improved. Todd reveals that Jesse has been helping him cook. Jesse wraps that fucking chain around Lydia's throat and uses her to escape.

toxin.
09.17.13 | him passing the point of no return doesn't mean he can't at least try to redeem himself even a little
i mean this episode proved that walt isn't an immoral guy, his problem is that he bullshits himself too much into rationalizing bad things that should go against his morals (e.g. that poisoning a little kid is ever ok, if it means helping his family or whatever). after seeing walt jr's reaction to him, i think walt's realized he's fucked up too hard. and tho he can't redeem himself he'll try to get some good out of his life before he dies (or at least i think that's what'll happen, like i said it's hella predictable and BB is anything but) |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | Oh I do think that Jesse will survive and he'll probably be the cause of that, but he's never gonna completely redeem himself. He's still gonna die, and the bottom line will be that he fucked everything up |

he confessed to all those things because he was gonna use Saul's guy to vanish, so, it doesn't really matter what the
police know about him.
I think Walt telling Jesse about Jane was purely cathartic. Walt just lost Hank, and if Jesse wasn't working with Hank, He

"I have this vision of Walt sitting in New Hampshire a bit in the future, just stewing in his thoughts; when all of the sudden the blue meth hits town, and its amazing and at that moment he knows it's Jesse."

no...he did it because of all those things AND his family. Walt's character is extremely complex and I sympathize with all of his reasons for doing what he has done. 09.17.13 | "lolololololololololol and the award for biggest misunderstanding of the show goes to......."
you apparently lol. The point is that while some characters are meant to be portrayed in a certain way, the show challenges the audience to still sympathize with certain characters. Certain people in the show say things and act a certain way to generally portray moral ambiguity or the dark side of morality at least. Example: Hank being aloof to Jesse's potential death in the sting. To consign any character as purely "good" or "evil" is missing the point. Everyone breaks bad. |

I don't think he's one hundred percent evil because he still has those moments of clarity when he realizes just how far over the edge he's gone. Like when he broke down crying after calling Skyler. When he collapsed after Hank was killed. How he hesitated before calling down the death sentence on Jesse. He's evil that's for sure but he's also tortured.

And no one's defending Jane. We're just saying that letting her die is a horrible thing to do. Also, this might just be me, but when did she threaten Walt's life? I remember her threatening him, but not a death threat. |
EaglesBecomeVultures
09.17.13 | oh and brilliant deduction as always, andcas |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | No, it's not that you can't appreciate Breaking Bad but your'e taking a genre that is specific in it's plot devices, and then
bitching at fans because they choose the bad guy and acting like they are a bad person in real life? |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | Comment about you was obviously tongue in cheek.
All of these threads and all these discussions revolving around the show are meant to untangle these grey areas and complicated personalities, treating the show with the realism it portrays. But cos someone interprets it differently and doesn't agree with you on one particular aspect you throw a tantrum and make some comments about how they must be young & immature/you're old and intelligent.
Fuck off. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Oh but I give my interpretation and then am dubbed as "fucked up" while they are some piece of moral standing.
Fuck off. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | It's not weird to separate the real world from fantasy, and side with bad guys in movies. Has happened forever and
Breaking Bad isn't the first to do so. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | Are you saying that I can't detect the moral ambiguities of the show? Of course I can, but some lines should never be crossed, and while Walt's motivations can sometimes be forgivable, his actions often aren't. Walt's not supposed to be a good guy, he's supposed to be sympathetic because takes no pleasure in what he does and is often even disgusted by his own actions. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | You justify what he did but then say in real life you'd never stand by it.
That doesn't make sense. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | "But to most folks, it's not weird to separate the real world from fantasy and side with bad guys in fake movies. Has happened forever and Breaking Bad isn't the first to do so."
Except this show is meant to portray deep and realistic personalities. So they should be treated as such. Very different to hope Darth Vader swipes all those naughty rebels with his light sabre. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | The whole point of programmes like these is that they immerse you. You're not meant to have to suspend your imagination. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | And even if you do treat it differently, patronising everyone because they see it differently is just being a cunt. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | There's a big difference between feeling sorry for someone and justifying their actions.
Walt's role is obviously that of a sympathetic anti-hero. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | No, I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that you seem to have a hard time with the fact that in this sort of fiction, often
fans side with the bad choices and that doesn't make them a bad person.
And Fish it does make sense.
If this were a discussion on monster movies and I said I liked when Godzilla killed all of those people, would you be
questioning my morals? I truly hope you go into every Scorsese film with that moral. You wont enjoy the flicks as much,
but hey you can feel all warm and morally set!
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | I don't always choose the anti-hero. I thought Tony Soprano was a despicable piece of shit but he's a fucking legendary
television character that plenty of people sided with. I didn't shit down their throats and question them as people, that's
whats cuntish if you ask me. Patronizing people who take everything seriously and preach from their high horse about a
fucking television show? If that's cuntish then sign me up. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "If this were a discussion on monster movies and I said I liked when Godzilla killed all of those people, would you be questioning my morals? Give me a break, the point is that while sure it seems everyone gets the show and yes it's realistic, but its not real and I truly hope you go into every Scorsese film with that moral. You wont enjoy the flicks as much, but hey you can feel all warm and morally set!"
Depends. If you liked it because it was exciting, scary and entertaining it would be fine, but I'd you liked it because you enjoyed watching all those people dying horribly then you'd be kinda weird. |
DrMaximus
09.17.13 | Well, I'm glad were dwelling on this. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | There's a big difference between enjoying something nasty in fiction and actually justifying it happening. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | I liked Tony Soprano because he was sympathetic, but I definitely didn't side with him most of the time. Same with Walt. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Well I guess it's weird to enjoy seeing the underdog, nerd who was shit on and given no credit in life break bad, become a drug kingpin, kill a bunch of scum-bag criminals worse then him and destroy his entire life in the process.
Like I said, I make a living in the horror industry so you'd better believe I like watching people die horribly. Its frightening, exhilarating, shocking and taboo and I'm definitely not alone! |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | yeah I've always hated horror films |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Either you like it or you don't. It's when you think that people would make the same decisions in real life, where you're
completely misguided. It's about as bad as saying that all of the kids who bought that GTA5 at midnight would justify
those acts in real life. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | "yeah I've always hated horror films"
That's great, there are millions of people who love em. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | "It's when you think that people would make the same decisions in real life, where you're completely misguided."
That's what these threads are about though. Treating it as if it were real. There's not much discussion value in whether or not you actually enjoyed them doing these things, so if you're gonna say something like that of course it's gonna be interpreted differently. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "There is nothing different between enjoying and justifying something nasty in fiction, that's the point. Either you like it or you don't. It's when you think that people would make the same decisions in real life, where you're completely misguided. It's about as bad as saying that all of the kids who bought that GTA5 at midnight would justify those acts in real life, just because they are choosing that narrative for a fake world."
Honesty, a big part of what makes GTA V acceptable is that it's not meant to be taken seriously. It's over-the-top. The main point of GTA is not to question the characters' morality, it's to have destructive fun. Breaking Bad is centered around the characters and their actions in a very realistic and detailed manner. Honestly, your comparisons aren't really doing it. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | I think most people would be hard pressed to find a justification for godzilla trampling tokyo. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | The show feels real enough to approach the characters and their actions from a realistic point of view. Not doing so is kind of missing the point IMO. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | The reason I mentioned age, is because as you get older those fantasies become much more of an escape then a test of
morals, because frankly at this point in my life, I don't need a television show to help me make moral choices in my real
life. |
Azn.
09.17.13 | Isn't Breaking Bad just a wonderful show |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | basically |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Because something is capable of portraying these extreme situations in a realistic fashion, it's now real life?
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | And I'm done on this specific point, love discussing the show with the folks here though and I agree it's a wonderful show that spawns multiple outlooks from various stand points.
What else can we argue about?! |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "The point of these types of stories is that little fantasy when you've become an older man/woman, been shit on forever, have a boring wife and family and decide to break free from those confines; generally by going nuts in a criminal way. The reason I mentioned age, is because as you get older those fantasies become much more of an escape then a test of morals, because frankly at this point in my life, I don't need a television show to help me make moral choices in my real life."
I don't approach the show that way at all. Using breaking bad as escapism is questionable. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "And no Buzz, just because you don't get it doesn't make it any less valid of a comparison. Because something is capable of portraying these extreme situations in a realistic fashion, we should dismiss it that way? You the fact that most of this show is actually really unrealistic. If you think that Breaking Bad is realistic then I question the grasp you actually have on this world. I'm actually sort of shocked we're discussing this."
By realistic I was talking about the character's personalities, motives and interactions. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Movies/television are escapism, whether you get it or not. Whether you like it or not, people
have and always will use books, music, movies and television as escapism. And we don't all escape to the same place
within the story, or escape from the same things in our lives.
|
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | "What else can we argue about?!"
music?
no actually no. no |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | bahaha yea as long we all like the same music, we're fine :P
In seriousness, I meant what else can we discuss about this show? We have 2 more episodes and then we're fucked for television for the most part. |
ZippaThaRippa
09.17.13 | NO! |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | If anything, you're the one who seems not to understand that siding with a character and finding them sympathetic is not the same thing as justifying their actions. |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | Well I've just started watching series 3 of The Walking Dead, but watching Breaking Bad at the same time just seems to highlight how much weaker the plot is in that show.
Still a good programme though. |
EaglesBecomeVultures
09.17.13 | watch the wire, kids |
anarchistfish
09.17.13 | yeah I have that downloaded too |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | That's no true at all, I understand all of these things quite well.
Sympathy means having compassion and understanding for someones needs.
Walt is a sympathetic character (to me) because his back story and original motivations, He cares for his family and even cares for Hank and Jesse.
Tony Soprano, is not a sympathetic character for me. He is a shady criminal, a bad father, bad husband, misogynistic, abusive, hits women, hurts innocents and systematically becomes more of a prick.
Like I said, you're just too one dimensional to figure it out. It's not something you can generalize. I agree with Walts choice with Jane, but also disagree with many of his individual choices. It's a highly complex show that gives you many different scenarios, actions and possible consequences that you can base your thoughts on.
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | I don't even want to imagine a show like The Wire in the hands of someone like Buzz. No offence, but from the way you comprehend this conversation that is going to just mindfuck you.
Omar FTW |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | Yeah, I've actually seen all of the Wire and it's one of my favorite shows ever. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | And if you'd be so kind as to point out the parts of this conversation that I miscomprehended, my feeble mind would be very grateful. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Sweet, are you going to shit on me for justifying Omar's actions? Even though it is light years more realistic than Breaking Bad? |
Azn.
09.17.13 | OK GUISE FUN IS OVER LAST TIME I CHECKED THIS WAS A MUSIC WEBSITE ARE WE TALKING ABOUT MUSIC HERE NO SO STOP |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Not a problem, basically the entire conversation!
Mostly the part when you thought that because I justified Walt backing out of saving Jane, that it was somehow suggestive
that I would watch someone overdose on heroin and not call 911 in real life... |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | No, Omar is one of my favorite tv characters of all time. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | @azninva5in
BB has some pretty immense sound design and the soundtrack usually suits the scenes to perfection. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "Not a problem, basically the entire conversation! Mostly the part when you thought that because I justified Walt backing out of saving Jane, that it was somehow suggestive that I would watch someone overdose on heroin and not call 911 in real life..."
I never said that, you're just putting words in my mouth. I only said that siding with Walt on an action as immoral as that raised some questions on your sense of morality. I never once implied that you're as bad as Walt for justifying his actions. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | And I said that's it's completely unfair to question someones real life morals based on their thoughts on a tv
show. Just like I wouldn't judge you as a person based on the music you like.
So let's just give you what you want, I'm an immoral person because of that stupid choice on Breaking Bad!
Solve this for you? I mean, you will never meet me, so there. I'm a heroin-overdose-enabler and have bad morals. |
DrMaximus
09.17.13 | Well, I'm glad were still dwelling on this. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | It's crazy how you accuse me of misunderstanding you just because I don't agree with you.
"I'm right and if you disagree it's that you didn't understand what I said." |
SpiritCrusher2
09.17.13 | you're all retarded |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | I didn't say anything with you about disagreeing and not once did I say anything even suggestive of
that. I'm saying you're wrong to judge my moral value, based on my thoughts on a fictional
show.
|
Azn.
09.17.13 | you're all retarded [2] |
Azn.
09.17.13 | sigh once was good thread now not |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | lol, can't believe you're getting this angry because we have differing views on ethicality. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Sure thing. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | @azn
At least Buzz and I are conversing something, that has plenty of room for critical thought and outside opinion all you can
do is pop your head in and put a (2) on someone elses comment. |
Azn.
09.17.13 | if you read my earlier comments then my contribution should be very clear. lol
but really why do you care so much to argue with people about a show on the internet, on sputnik
|
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | Final words:
I'm sorry but you're thickheaded if you don't agree that applying your sense of morality to a situation, real or not, is indicative of your sense if morality. |
Azn.
09.17.13 | like you're taking this so seriously that I'm questioning your intelligence |
Ire
09.17.13 | "I didn't miss the point. I know it was a fake call ya twat. But he broke down afterwards because he was reflecting on how he'd torn his family apart"
myea have to agree w this |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | We're not arguing about the show, if you read my earlier comments I contributed plenty of conversation about the show. |
Azn.
09.17.13 | it's a bad thread because there are people arguing pointlessly about petty things
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 |
Maybe some of us find an intellectual release in debating, would it be more valid if we were sitting in a room together?
Anyways, what do you folks think about the next two? Think "Granite State" will be filler? I hate that word but you know
what I mean. Often shows pull the biggest stunts out on their penultimate episode, but this show is anything but
conventional. |
klap
09.17.13 | wow um i think he's just saying that agreeing with walt's justification for letting jane die is pretty lol. no personal attacks here guys |
Trebor.
09.17.13 | Saying anyone deserves to die is pretty fucked up honestly
Walt has killed dozens of people, yet is still a role model to these people
Jane was going to leave with Jesse and take him away from the meth business, biggest cunt on the planet and deserves to die OK |
ZippaThaRippa
09.17.13 | We all to deserve to die. One day, we'll all get what we deserve |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | I guess that's why it's such a great show, it gives us many choices to either love or hate and it also has given me many
reasons to agree and disagree with many different things that the entire cast has done throughout the series.
I quite enjoyed cheering for Walk, Hank and Jesse at the same time! |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | but gaiz, it's an imaginary world. jane is not real. walt is not real. therefore they cannot die. |
Trebor.
09.17.13 | Saving an innocent human being how sophomoric
|
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Because that's what I said, you can bask in whatever glory you think you have but you're an idiot man. You have no critical
thought and generalize everything because you can't figure simple things out. Keep grasping for straws but you aren't
tricking the folks here into believing you've done anything but find yourself lost in a conversation a bit too tricky for you.
@ Trebor We went over this, how was she innocent? She just showed up in Jesse's life, as soon as she hears he has a
bunch of money she tries to blackmail Walt... All in hopes to have a better life from some guy's money that she just met.
Yea our grasp of innocent is completely different. She was not innocent. |
Trebor.
09.17.13 | lol what |
Trebor.
09.17.13 | we're dealing with an intellectual here guys, bask in his glory |
klap
09.17.13 | yeah surprised he didn't just shoot the bitch sooner amirite |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "Yea because that's what I said, you can bask in whatever glory you think you have but you're an idiot man. You
have no critical thought and generalize everything because you can't figure simple things out. Keep grasping for
straws but you aren't tricking the folks here into believing you've done anything but find yourself lost in a
conversation a bit too tricky for you. "
at this point I'm just messing around, don't really give a fuck about being right or wrong anymore. I just don't
understand why you have to be so incredibly hostile. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Walt said he had all the intentions of giving Jesse the money he just wouldn't until he got clean, if Jane cared so much she
would have seen the reason in that, but she threatened Walt, also demanding that he NEVER talk to Jesse again.
And I'm not trying to be hostile but you're being a jerk |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Yea keep joking neckbeard, at least I watched the show and figured it out. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | damn, you have an lsd molecule as a profile pic. better assume everything you say from now on is the truth because of how smart you clearly are. |
Buzzkillr
09.17.13 | "Not to mention, Walt said he had all the intentions of giving Jesse the money he just couldn't do it knowing he would overdose and die, if Jesse cleaned up he would get the money, if Jane cared so much she would have seen the reason in that, but she said FUCK YOU and threatened Walt, also demanding that he NEVER talk to Jesse again. This is season 2, so Walt isn't even that bad yet.
Watch the show."
a few posts ago you were all about "opinions" but now you're clearly making it sound like your "opinion" is the right one. kindly fuck off please |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Why are you being such a condescending prick? You couldn't debate so now you resort to things that have nothing to do
with it. Yea, I get it. You disagree, I get it. |
eleventhsun
09.17.13 | Nope, nice try with the thought police BS.. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | you just can't get your point across, don't get mad at me for it.
and it's your opinion that walt had little to no choice but to kill jane in the situation that he was in, but you're wrong.
|
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | thought police? what the hell are you even talking about? |
Cormano
09.18.13 | sweet thread |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Yes it is my opinion that had little to no choice but to "TURN THE OTHER WAY" (not kill Jane) in the situation he was
in. And I'm not wrong, you just don't agree, which is fine.
And thought policing is what you've been doing to me this entire conversation, clearly trying to speak to me as if I'm
dumb as a defence mechanism. Furthermore it's an Orwell reference. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | I've understood what you've been saying from the start, I just happen not to agree with it. and the thought police comment is just beside the point. and i've read 1984 fyi |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | That's all you had to say, but you came at me with some attitude. That is some bullshit and
nothing you will say is going to justify generalizing people like that.
I can almost guarantee I provide more use and "moral" compassion on this planet on a daily basis then you will ever. So
yes, you're wrong.
|
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | The fact that you keep trying to make jabs at me speaks highly of your character, maybe we should question your morals.
Seeing as the topic had been changed, but you thought you would try to take a crack at me to embarrass me for some self
gratification from a bunch of strangers on the web... Maybe we should question what type of person you are? The type
that brings up intellect and deep thought as a negative. |
MeatSalad
09.18.13 | quit crying at each other, fags |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | I'm having a very hard time believing that you would get this outraged at an online user who you don't know for calling you immoral.
also:
"I can almost guarantee I provide more use and "moral" compassion on this planet on a daily basis then you will ever. So yes, you're wrong."
wow, I don't know you at all, but from having a short online argument with me, you sure seem to know a lot about me and what I do. I ain't even mad though, because unlike you, I don't give a fuck what some anonymous online user thinks of me. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | "he type that uses my intellect, deep thought and critical assessment of fiction as a negative, the type that when faced with a formidable debate opponent they resort to juvenile attempts to discredit the person. Just saying."
lol, modesty much? |
MeatSalad
09.18.13 | 2modest |
MeatSalad
09.18.13 | also, "deep thought" LOL |
WeepingBanana
09.18.13 | "Yea keep joking neckbeard, at least I watched the show and figured it out."
wow do you win a free dinner date with vince gilligan or something? |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | honestly, you seem quite insecure about your level of intelligence, constantly insulting mine and attempting to reaffirm your own. |
Trebor.
09.18.13 | yeah man this is just sad |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Dude, that's the entire point. You're so hypocritical, my goodness. You tried to generalize an entire group of people for
siding with a fake criminal in a fictional television show and then when told they make different choices in the real world,
you act like that's crazy? And I'm sad for seeing a problem with that?
You can't say that everyone who sides with the bad guy in movies, is a sociopath or monster in real life. End of discussion. |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | What's sad? People have different outlooks so it's sad?
What he fuck is up with this group tonight? Its a television show you know. Do you guys do this with every crime show or
movie?
|
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | "You can't say that everyone who sides with the bad guy in movies, is a sociopath or monster in real life. End of discussion."
god, I never said anything even remotely close to that. you're the one who's completely misunderstanding me. it just makes you slightly immoral. like the kind of person who would steal something if they knew they wouldn't get caught. there's different degrees of immorality. just because I said you were immoral, I'm not equating you to a real life Walter White.
also the word you're looking for is intellectual, not intellect. |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | That's not true at all!
I would never steal from someone, I grew up with nothing and my family still has nothing. I would never take
something from someone and never have. You keep making these sweeping statements but you are wrong.
|
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | I actually spent a year on the streets of downtown Toronto and never stole, not once. And I cheer for all the bad guys in
horror movies. You're wrong. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | you're trolling right? it was an example to show that there's different degrees of morally wrong. I'd be more worried that you can't understand a simple example than me not understanding your warped opinions |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | "I actually spent a year on the streets of downtown Toronto and never stole, not once. And I cheer for all the bad guys in horror movies. You're wrong."
what the fuck are you talking about god |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | well see, I actually think it's less morally wrong to steal food when you're starving than to root for an imaginary bad guy.
that might just be me tho. wait, it's not |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | You're the warped one, you're wrong and no amount of spewing off at me is going to change it. You're completely
inexperienced at life and it certainly shows in your warped and Orwellian opinions.
Trolling? You literally just said that people who side with bad guys are the type likely to steal or do immoral things.
Trolling? The fact people like you exist in this world is trolling on the rest of us. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | aaaand 400th post.
also lern2reed pls |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | "You literally just said that people who side with bad guys are the type likely to steal or do immoral things. "
--->"it was an example to show that there's different degrees of morally wrong."
|
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | also your grammar sorta sucks. you say your canadian, right? |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | You have utterly stupid opinions and should probably keep them to yourself outside of forums in fear of getting punched
in the face.
The fact that you keep comparing how someone receives fiction to how they act in real life situations makes you look like
the biggest fool on this board, it's unreal.
|
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Don't bother Andcas, this fucking piece of shit will call you a thief because you don't consider fake television shows as real life and can't possibly differentiate between the two. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | I'm having a blast, and I hope your are too.
and don't worry, this conversation will have strictly no bearing on how I behave in the future. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | "Don't bother Andcas, this fucking piece of shit will call you a thief because you don't consider fake television shows as real life and can't possibly differentiate between the two."
lol'd |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Yea I wouldn't be laughing. |
DrMaximus
09.18.13 | "if walt never showed up who's fault would it be that jane died?
it was a freak chance she happened to overdose as soon as he walked in
if he hadn't been there she would've died of her own stupidity"
Once again, andcas has failed to grasp the full content of a scene. Walt was shaking Jesse to try and wake him up, in doing so, the shaking accidentally pushed Jane on her back. |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Or like everyone failed to grasp that Jane was threatening Walt with a fate worse than death (he's dying of cancer) |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | i'm sorry you don't have the mental capacity to apply real-life ethics to imaginary scenarios. it's much more immersive and rewarding than being like "this is fake and I realize that, which makes me smart" |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | Yea sure pal, I already stated that my real-life ethics would have made me choose differently but we've established that
you're a moron who can't read, so there's that. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | honestly feel kind of bad for you so i'll let you take this one.
till next time |
DrMaximus
09.18.13 | Till we meet again. |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | You have no credibility to say anything to me you fascist loser. I don't feel bad for you or anyone who calls people
immoral and says they're thieves, for cheering for the bad guy. Shove your ididic opinions up your ass, tell your

Just because you agree with yourself, doesn't make you any less of a questionable human being.
You're just like those politicians that try to ban violent video games and rap music because it must make the audience
immoral. |
Buzzkillr
09.18.13 | I insist you take it. really, please. do it for the children. |

Yea, that was all true keep laughing but you know it's not actually funny. You're a weak minded, weak willed, very un-

I had the same feeling. I was unsure what to make of it at first, I felt like it was going to be like those series they used to
have on showcase in the 90s. Like all art-house and stuff, had no clue it would be this immense crime epic.
The scene with Jesse and the body in the bath tub, sold me for life. |

acting like a degenerate and insulting me just because you don't agree. |

accusations about people, keep coming back and arguing probably posting more times then myself, and all of you turn on

didn't say anything rude or insulting about entire groups of people based on their opinions of breaking bad.

09.18.13 | I was working on it, but sheep mentality dictates that everyone gangs up on the one person. Regardless of what they're

MeatSalad
09.18.13 | waiting on you to drop it, pretty easy :3 |
eleventhsun
09.18.13 | You know what, you don't need to ban me, I'll leave. I don't need to be part of a community that has it's moderators observe a group gang up on a person for sharing an opinion on a public forum, stir up a situation and turn it into a complete war.
Deviant, as a moderator I believe you try your best. I realize you are to be unbiased and try to make the community enjoyable for EVERYONE. You didn't show that. I don't even believe you read the entire thread.
But, what's the point? I've tried on multiple occasions to be an addition to the site, as I have generally enjoyed the discussion and find the reviews to be superior to most sites. Most of my post history consists of me praising the reviews I enjoy, discussing music I like and learning about new music from the more knowledgable users. I usually go out of my way to compliment people on their talent.
But unfortunately the fact that I expressed an unpopular opinion about this television series, I'm apparently some scum-bag hell bent on ruining everyone's fun. The unfortunate thing is, I would have been an honest and valuable member of this community had I not been met with this gang mentality. I have plugged and advertised the site for years and swore by it to many friends of mine, who now visit regularly. As a matter of fact, I was just showing the site to the music editor at the magazine I work at (one of the largest in the world) and going on about the quality of review work in comparison to ours.
There seems to be something truly wrong with the way this community works. Every time someone who isn't part of the "gang" shares their opinion, they get ganged up on by those trying to fit in. I mean, fine I suppose if you want to have an unpopular opinion, the herd will follow (and yes Trebor, sheeple is a great description of you) but what I don't expect is the mod to side with the obviously out of line group.
Provide me one example of me breaking any rules or guidelines, or doing anything different or more excessive then the person antagonizing me? Show me an example of where my argument was in violation of anything, while his was totally fine? Or is it that I disagreed with the "popular" kids and that's a no? Anyways, nobody gives a shit anyway. Have your boys club, you don't want me here. No problem, you basically just made it clear that sputnikmusic is a place that discriminates and allows for cyber bullying on members for sharing opinions.
Message received. I apologize for trying to talk about my favourite show!

I'm not telling you to shut up because you indulged in a discussion, I'm telling you because the majority of your comments within were condescending in nature. Which is far from being a crime, but while other people have disputed your theories and ideas (the "ganging up" you're complaining about), you're the one who won't shut up about it and are continuing to impress an argument upon everyone. You seem like a relatively intelligent person, so surely you would understand the merits, and convenience, or removing one person from the equation, rather than an entire group. My comment was simply designed to get you to move on, because all you're doing is beating a dead horse. If you don't understand that concept, well... I don't care |

09.18.13 | From a pure entertainment standpoint, Breaking Bad probably exceeds The Wire. No other TV show has pumped me full of adrenaline like BB has. Does it have the depth, gritty realism or social commentary of The Wire? Probably not, but by the time it has finished it should be held in the same/similar regard as The Wire, because this show is redefining modern television. |

07.29.15 | "how does the second season of True Detective compare with the first?"
a lot of people are disappointed, but at this point I'm enjoying it as much as the first season. I think the key in enjoying it is not comparing it to the first one. there are a lot of differences, but quality-wise it's (almost) as good as the first one. first few episodes were kinda slow, but it's getting better and better as you go further and there are 2 more episodes left, the pain of waiting for the next one is becoming real. plus Colin Farrel is amazing in it. definitely worth watching |
