Elliott Smith Albums Ranked
Elliott Smith Albums in order of my most favorite to just favorite. In my opinion he is the greatest singer-songwriter to ever live and is my personal favorite musician as well. He didn't put out a bad album but I do have ones I prefer over others. I'm not including New Moon. |
| 1 | | Elliott Smith Elliott Smith
The songwriting: the diversity between the eerie depressing songs and the happy go lucky to even those nights where you walk around in an intoxicated fog, this album is so stripped down but it carries so many emotions and visual pictures. I believe this is Elliott at his finest. |
| 2 | | Elliott Smith XO
I just love the composition of this album. It flows so well and the instrumentation is genius. I honestly wish Figure 8 had been closer to this. |
| 3 | | Elliott Smith Either/Or
Most people would have ranked this as #1, and while I love so many of the songs on this album I just don't think it is his best work as a whole. |
| 4 | | Elliott Smith From a Basement on the Hill
Kings Crossing. That is all. |
| 5 | | Elliott Smith Figure 8
Basically a mix between XO and From A Basement. Lots of phenomenal tracks. Somebody That I used to Know and Junk Bond Trader really stand out for me though. |
| 6 | | Elliott Smith Roman Candle
I love so many of the songs on this album and I'm always going back and forth about where I would place it. So it doesn't really rank as 6 but I don't know where to put it. |
