09.09.13 | try a marzen, they're in season right now. i'm partial to Cascadian ales and dark lagers (schwarzbiers
) so whenever i see one i try to grab it. Unita's Baba dark lager is good if you can find
it. depends on what region you're from, try some local craft brews if there's a store nearby that
sells micro. |
Grimlin
09.09.13 | so many good beers out there. i've been loving everything Stone Brewing Company makes lately, specifically the IPAs. actually i've been loving IPAs in general lately. also, most anything with the words Imperial, Double, or Triple in from of the name will likely rule, if you like your beer strong. |

09.10.13 | I just drink cheap normal beer, I'm so uncultured : ( |

09.10.13 | I can only recommend Texas beer since for the most part that's all I've ever drinked (although I've had a two beers made by Alaskan. Their stout was pretty good and their summer seasonal beer - which I believe was a saison but don't quote me was excellent.)
Lone Star - if you no longer care about shit and just need something carry you till the lovely day the sweet caress of death sees you home then it's the beer for you.
Shiner - Along w/ Fat Tire probably the most ubiquitous "craft" beer. You probably already have an opinion of them so I won't waste your time. But they have a summer beer called like "blueberry red" or something that may be the most "girly" beer on the market and people are going to make fun of you but fuck 'em get it it's wonderful.
St. Arnold - A houston brewing co. everything I've had from them has been quality. Their standard amber ale is what i always get at astros games and it's good. They got a beer called "summer pils" if you like the idea of light beer but not the taste then you'll like it. Their two IPAs Elissa and the Endeavour are both solid. The Elissa's a good beginner IPA, not too hoppy or strong.
I was going to recommend beers from Karbach and Southern Star but unless you are planning a visit to houston you're probably not going to run into them so I'll keep it short: For Karbach Weisse Versa Wheat and Sympathy Lager - Yes, Hopadillo IPA - No unless you're a super duper IPA nut. For Southern Star: Bombshell Blonde - Yes, Buried Hatchet Stout, meh.
"Youngs double chocolate might be my fav"
Yes this is a good stout. Also Convict Hill Stout an Austin beer ain't bad. |
somnolence
09.10.13 | most -- but not all -- beers are commerically brewed that tastes like cheap horseshit made for a middle-class semiwhite proletariat community of losers or teenegers with low intellectual quoficients (in other words, future-aforegiven), and real men drink Islay.

09.10.13 | Also to clarify by drinked I meant drunk. Also by using craft in scare quotes I was not not meaning to claim Fat Tire a fake craft beer like Blue Moon and Third Shift because I think FT is still independently operated but that Shiner isn't really craft brewery. They're independently operated but have been around since like 1903 so I don't think that qualifies them to be an actual craft brewery but the point still stands. FT and Shiner are both basically craft beers and are fairly common nationwide.
Sorry for being long winded but I'm tryin' to kill time 'fore the Texans game. And also the Astros game I mean they'll fucking lose but Taijaun Walker vs. Jarred Cosart is a damn good pitching matchup. |
