As for who dies; I think Skylar, Walt Jr. and Holly will all die in 1 scene. Hence Walt doing the
whole "52" thing with the bacon by himself at the very beginning of Season 5. Hank will get killed
by Todd and his uncle and Marie will blame it on Walt which is why he is on the run and using a
different identity.
Who the ricin is for.....I have no idea. But I still stand by the idea that Walt will NOT kill

imo hank isn't an asshole or a terrible character. he's actually a really well written character in the sense that he's the classic "good guy" who's known the just and moral way of living life, and is now confronted with the most insane of situations and is acting differently, in a way where he'll literally do anything to achieve justice |

what hank sees is the need for justice. for the lives he's destroyed (see their interaction in his garage). it's not a farce, he's not using jesse in a bad way. he's willing to stoop to basically any level to nail walt because he knows he doesn't have any hard evidence besides face to face he said he said subjective evidence. he needs something concrete because he wants to see justice served. at least that's how I see his character. |

No, his career is fucked because the very person he's been after for a year is his own brother in law, who used his drug money to rehabilitate Walt. And not to mention the fact that he took Walt along on unauthorised surveillance journeys on Fring. He's done nothing legally wrong, but could you imagine anyone wanting to keep him on at the DEA (regardless of position) after all of that became public knowledge

no definitely not. hank is not that sort of a character...the way they've written him I'm almost sure of that. when he was offered a higher up position he didn't jump all over it. he was pretty hesitant.

that's definitely the point of the show. but in the end I see it more as what happens when it's all out of their (the characters) control. this whole thing is based on Walt and the decisions he made. end of story. the outcome of every character in this show is ultimately determined by, and is a result of what walt has done.
so essentially, everyone is being pushed way out of their element. everyone is acting through the means of survival at this point. you keep saying that they are breaking bad...but WHY are they breaking bad, not through their own intentions. That's being forced upon them by walt and is making every character seem like a total shitstain (trust me there's time I'd wish skylar and marie would just stfu).
but take jesse and hank. two people who would have barely met in normal life. but hank is reaching out to jesse and really does want to solve this thing and bring the hammer down on walt because he's his main lead. he even says "that junkie pissing all over his guest bathroom" which shows that he'll let anyone into his house to help him solve this thing. he's being forced out of his comfort zone and is doing whatever it takes to nail walt, but not through reputation, through what he thinks is right.
all I'm getting at is that I can't in any way see Hank as an asshole or shitty character like so many people are saying because it's such a personal case and has rocked his very foundations. hell just look at how it made him crash his suv through a fence

that's fine and i think you make a pretty compelling point. for me, the only characters who i rooted for were the ones with a set of obvious ethics. like mike who actually did everything for the sake of his granddaughter, or maybe even skyler (never got the whole she's a bitch thing). even jesse despite doing awful things
i don't disagree hank's prob a good dude, i mean you could argue that for 50 yrs walt was a good dude too. but he's lost my sympathy in the last few eps b/c the way he's been acting, just like walt lost my sympathy when he left jane die, and gus lost my sympathy when he threatened walt's family (granted it was maybe only a threat), etc.
@dev, vince has such a boring answer. in any case a lot of the discussion around breaking bad uses the term "breaking bad" as a way of saying "has become bad" and i prefer that interpretation to raising hell or w/e, authorial intent or not. you guys are prob right that hank's approach to catching walt was fine tho. i remember watching the midseason premiere (or the one after that?) and thinking what i posted before but i might've just been mistaken |
