Sapient.: Great Alternative Metal... What Happened?

None of these are very similar to each other, and most are in distinctly different genres 1 is space rock, 2 is alternative metal, 3 is nu-metal (maybe alternative metal, but not really), 4 is progressive metal, 5 is grunge, 6 is rap metal, 7 is grunge/sludge, 8 is post-hxc, 9 is alternative rock, and 10 is alternative metal
Mongi123 08.29.13	Yea 4 is more prog but alt metal is a very broad genre. I try not to classify bands into a genre anymore.
Traicion 08.29.13	To my mind, 2 is alternative/nu-metal. And I always thought that 10 is rather alternative rock than alternative metal record.
NastyCrab 08.29.13	I think "alternative" is just a dirty word because it's commonly used as a lazy blanket term to describe anything that's not pop/mainstream music.
