| Cip's 2013 Fantasy Football Team
This is my first year doing a fantasy league so I'm sure I'll be terrible, but
you gotta start somewhere right? 10 person league online with random
people. List is random digs. | 1 | | TesseracT One
QB - D. Brees (NO), J. Locker (TEN) | 2 | | Evan Brewer Alone
RB - A. Peterson (MIN), F. Gore (SF), M. Ingram (NO) | 3 | | Elora Danan In The Room Up There
WR - W. Welker (DEN), G Jennings (MIN), J. Nelson (GB), J. Jones (GB), A. Boldin (SF) | 4 | | 3 The End is Begun
TE - R. Gronkowski (NE), A. Gates (SD), J. Finley (GB) | 5 | | I The Mighty Satori

08.27.13 | i should lose one of my TEs and get another WR probably | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | Too many Green Bay receivers. Also, Welker isn't even going to get his usual numbers with the proven #1 Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker getting catches. You could find a better defense and TE situation. Ok draft, Brees and AP will help. Alot. | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | QB = A
RB = B
WR= C-
TE = D | Cipieron
08.27.13 | hah thanks man. yeah i really don't know much about WRs so I tried to go with at least names i knew. gonna have to go look at them free agents it seems | Masochist
08.27.13 | Balls is being hard on you, but he makes some good points. You generally don't want two WR from the same team because they'll split your points (if one's doing really good, it's usually at the expense of the other), and they share bye-weeks...and from Green Bay, you sadly missed out on Randall Cobb, but one of those two others will get their catches (probably Nelson). Welker will do well in Denver, I think, and Greg Jennings is the starting receiver for Minnesota, which automatically makes him worthy of inclusion, even if he just sits on your bench (if Cecil Shorts on the Jaguars can be a worthy choice, most anyone can).
This matters, though--is this a points-per-reception (PPR) league?
Gronk will be out for a week or two, but when he's back, you'll be happy he's on your team, and Antonio Gates is a decent alternative...but yeah, unless your league starts two TE's, you don't need but two.
How you ended up with AP and Brees on the same team, I'll never know, but they'll be your saving grace every time. | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | I hope in my main league draft tuesday that I can get Gronk in the 5th round.
My first draft I got AJ Green, Calvin and Andre Johnson at the expense of only having Stevan Ridley and David Wilson at my runningbacks. Stafford/Dalton at qb and Vernon Davis/Martellus Bennet at te. | FromDaHood
08.27.13 | Balls you better hope Megatron has a big year again because Broyles has been underwhelming and Pettigrew's hands are suspect. Can't really count on Burleson either. | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | Calvin had broken fingers and a knee injury all year last year. Can you imagine him healthy? | Masochist
08.27.13 | Can't believe you ended up with that receiving core, especially having the Dalton/Green and Stafford/Megatron connections. Reminds me of someone's RB core last year, before anyone knew how things would end up--one of the guys in our league had AP, Arian Foster and CJ Spiller on his team.
My "main" league is the only one I'm in that's a carry-over from last year, and also the only one I paid to be in ($15). It's ALSO the last of the six I'm in this year that I draft for, so I'm hoping that by the time I get there, I'll be a drafting wizard :-P.
My best draft so far, I think, is actually for SowingSeason's Sputnik League. The starters: QBs are RGIII and Eli (fuck); RBs are AP and MJD, WRs are Victor Cruz, Marquis Colston and James Jones; TE is Greg Olsen; defense is DA BEARS; K is Gostkowski. | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | RGIII's knee and some suspecting defensive lineman asshole is the only concern there. | DANcore
08.27.13 | Not sure what you're planning to do at the flex position, but you should try trading one of those TE's for a late-round high upside receiver, like broyles, hopkins, or chris givens. That wr situation could get messy.
I know it's tempting to grab Brees or Rodgers, but QB is so deep this year that it's usually best to solidify your wr/rb spots first. Really like you running back options though. | DANcore
08.27.13 | Got my 14 team ppr soon. Hoping to go spiller/sproles/fitzgerald and grab vereen later. He'll be a ppr beast this year. | BallsToTheWall
08.27.13 | Or even Josh Gordon. | Masochist
08.27.13 | "RGIII's knee and some suspecting defensive lineman asshole is the only concern there."
Big concern. He won't be near as mobile as he was last year, but I still feel he's a good QB with tons of potential. His WR situation, however...well, let's just say he doesn't have the same problem as Denver does...>_> | Cipieron
08.28.13 | thanks guys. yeah i'll try to unload some of those multiple Green Bay guys and one of the TEs. after a lot of the higher profile guys got picked i really didn't know what to do so i went with WRs i knew.. didn't really think about the whole 'same team stealing points' angle. live and learn. i'm excited though!! | BallsToTheWall
08.28.13 | Packers, Saints and now Broncos have a WR committee, it's hard to tell who will put up 1,000+ and 8-12 td's. | Masochist
08.28.13 | "didn't really think about the whole 'same team stealing points' angle. live and learn."
It's just a general guideline. There are definitely exceptions, though--if you manage to snag both Roddy White and Julio Jones from the Falcons, good on you. And I'm certain that two of the three high-profile receivers (Demaryus Thomas, Wes Welker, Erick Decker) in Denver will be Top 20 by the end of the year (barring injury).
You certainly don't have a bad team at all; way better than either one of mine last year (which was my first year), and I think I did rather decently. | slep
08.28.13 | yea you dun goofed on tight ends | Smithsonian
08.28.13 | Wow that's crazy I got Brees and Peterson in my league too but my #1 WR was roddy white not welker. I wouldn't have picked welker as my #1 WR unless its ppr but maybe he ends up being the top broncos WR. | Trebor.
08.28.13 | Why the fuck do you have 3 tight ends
Just stop | DANcore
08.28.13 | Because one of them is Gronk, so he obviously needs at least two, and he might end up using one as a flex. Also, the guy said it's the first draft he's ever done.
Stop being an ass | Cipieron
08.29.13 | QB - D. Brees (NO), J. Locker (TEN)
RB - A. Peterson (MIN), F. Gore (SF), M. Ingram (NO), Shonn Greene (TEN)
WR - W. Welker (DEN), G Jennings (MIN), B. Hartline (MIA), A. Boldin (SF)
TE - R. Gronkowski (NE), A. Gates (SD)
K - S. Hauschka (SF)
DEF - CLE Browns
K, made a few adjustments. Got rid of the multiple GB guys and dropped a TE for another RB. The guys I picked up were the best FA's available. A buddy told me the Browns look like they'll have a good sleeper defense this year, so I dropped the Ravens defense for them | Masochist
08.31.13 | No matter who you draft, it'll be really exciting to see how your year plays out. Draft Day is probably the single most important day of Fantasy Football, but if you have even six of these guys still on your team by the end of the season, I'd be surprised. | BallsToTheWall
09.13.13 | Predictions mean jack shit. Week 1 I played my buddy who had Peyton. I won the week 246-245 when when we were expected to put up 213 and 208. | BallsToTheWall
09.13.13 | Jennings really let me down, i'm contemplating putting Rueben Randle in front of Jennings spot this week. | Cipieron
09.13.13 | So I beat my week 1 opponent by 20 points. And my predicted points for week 2 puts me 40 points over my opponent. Here's what my lineups looks like for this week (i put a b behind my benched players):
QB - D. Brees (NO), M. Schaub (HOU)b
RB - A. Peterson (MIN), F. Gore (SF), K. Moreno (DEN)b
WR - W. Welker (DEN), J. Nelson (GB), J. Edelman (NE), B. Hartline (MIA)b, A. Boldin (SF)b, G. Jennings (MIN)b
TE - M. Bennett (CHI), R. Gronkowski (NE)b
K - R. Bironas (TEN)
DEF - BAL Ravens | ToMMyMiL16
10.30.13 | your team is great. these idiots dont know shit | Cipieron
10.30.13 | QB - D. Brees (NO), P. Rivers (SD)b
RB - A. Peterson (MIN), R. Mathews (SD), Frank Gore (SF)b
WR - J. Nelson (GB), Keenan Allen (SD), A. Jeffery (CHI), W. Welker (DEN)b, M. Jones (CIN)b, P. Harvin (SEA)b
TE - R. Gronkowski (NE), J. Reed (WAS)b
K - M. Crosby (GB)
DEF - Kansas City Chiefs
My lineup for Week 9. Currently I'm 5-3 and in 3rd place in my league. I'm going to drop my 2nd TE once Gronk comes back from bye on week 10. I've been trying to offer Rivers up on trade for a top 5 RB or WR, but no bites so far. Maybe I should try trading Brees and pick up J. Locker.. but in any case I think I'm doing pretty well so far. A couple mistakes along the way, but I'm learning |
