Deathconscious 08.15.13	i think Blackwater Park, Deliverance, Ghost Reveries, My Arms Your Hearse, Still Life, and Watershed are all pretty equal. you really cant go wrong, even their worst albums are still pretty good.

SgtShock 08.15.13	When I show people Opeth I usually show them Ghost Reveries. But my Opeth opinion has been deemed heresy and burned at the stake on more than one occasion, after professing my eternal love for Watershed and Heritage.

It has some black metal influences which aren't present on BWP. It's also generally more cohesive imo and somewhat more refined with regards to song structure etc.

FictionalFlames 08.15.13	Damnation is extremely chill and probably in my top 3 with Blackwater Park and Still Life. GR imo isn't as great as it's been out up to be, but it's still over a 4 in my eyes. Watershed doesn't get the love it deserves. And really every album is fantastic and has its own mood. Personally, I would say listen to Still Life, then Damnation, then Watershed, and then everything from Orchird - MAYH, then Heritage (which is really hard to appreciate at first), and then Deliverence. And don't forget about their non-album single "The Throat of Winter" (which has a great solo).
