08.12.13 | There's so much lore / characters / symbolism that's not in the show and it's sometimes the best part...the show has some scenes that the books don't have...so they compliment each other well; usually these scenes are kind of pointless, though, and just things that readers can assume would happen in a conversation between character X and character Y. The books are very far superior (obviously) |

08.12.13 | They are two entirely separate and entirely entertaining mediums. Yes, the show adds and takes a lot but it has to: it's adapting some incredibly dense novels. Also, the additions occasionally *improve* on the books (read: Arya and Tywin at Harrenhal).
Personally, I would've put Jon higher and Cersei lower, but solid ranking as it is. I think we can all agree, though, that the best character is indisputably Dickon Manwoody.

08.12.13 | Lol @ calling Theon a filthy maggot compared to Ramsay Bolton. The entire purpose of Ramsay's introduction is to show that Theon is not even that bad in comparison.
Yeah the show does some things better. Tywin / Brienne gain the best representation from the show. But it also messes with some great characters, Petyr and Stannis, for instance. I love Feast and Dance, so I'll keep an open mind about the divergence but we will see if it's for the better. |
