Got A Job
at Thriftway - this grocery store in our little town. I'll be working part-time
as a bagger/carry-out guy. I get paid minimum wage, but make some pretty
good tips. I start Monday - I'm pretty excited to finally have a bit of extra
cash. List is digs. |
| 1 | | As Tall As Lions Lafcadio
Their debut brings a whole lot to the table - A fantastic start for this indie rock band. |
| 2 | | Clint Mansell, Kronos Quartet & Mogwai The Fountain
Beautiful soundtrack to a beautiful movie. A mix of post-rock, minimalism, and
modern classical. |
| 3 | | Lights Out Asia Eyes Like Brontide
I've kinda been getting back into my old post-rock stuff. This album gets better
with every listen. |
| 4 | | This Will Destroy You This Will Destroy You
Call it overrated, call it average - This is one of my favorite post-rock albums of all
time. "A Three-Legged Workhorse", "Villa Del Refugio", "The Mighty Rio Grande", and
"They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light" are all absolutely entrancing. |
| 5 | | The Narrative Just Say Yes
Indie/Alt-Pop - This little EP is very overlooked. The boy-girl duo of a band is
fantastic and charming. |
| 6 | | Port Blue The Airship
Adam Young (from Owl City *yuck*) has many side projects and this is by far his
best. A picture perfect meld of ambience and electronic minimalism. |
| 7 | | Shlohmo Bad Vibes
Trippy, glitchy, bass-heavy instrumentals with superb drum looping. |
| 8 | | Lapalux Nostalchic
(see above) |
| 9 | | Holy Other Held
A darker approach. |
| 10 | | Groundislava Feel Me
(see above) |
| 11 | | Genghis Tron Board Up The House
Electronic/grind/instrumental - Abrasive. |
| 12 | | Discovery LP
Some cool electronica - not too popular around here. |
| 13 | | Disclosure Settle
I'm surprised this one isn't bigger around here either with all you Pitchfork snobs. ;)
lol. More good glitch-hop. |
| 14 | | Lone Emerald Fantasy Tracks
Even more droney electronic goodness. |
| 15 | | Ultraista Ultraista
Nigel Godrich is the man. (contains an awesome remix of Smalltalk by Four Tet - a
must hear.) |
| 16 | | Night Beds Country Sleep
Folk |
| 17 | | Ryan Bingham Junky Star
Alt-Country - I can listen to very small amounts of country, but his gravelly voice
wins it for me. He also wrote the theme for the new FX series The Bridge - very
good. |
| 18 | | The Early November In Currents
Some trendy shit. |
| 19 | | damascus Heights
Ominous post-rock. High-quality work. |
| 20 | | The Postal Service Give Up
I finally got the remastered version of this fine piece. At Starbucks. Lol |
