2013: Lesser And Better Known Albums I Liked Until Now

Here's a list of albums/EPs (no distinction) I liked (3.5 or better) this first half of 2013. Ranking is really (like, REALLY) approximate: it's correct in the sense that all my 3.5s < 4s < 4.5s, but otherwise... Also, feel free to rec me stuff I might've missed based on this list.
35ENA
Bilateral

(DnB/techno) Too early to rate, but it sounds too great not to put on this list. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VmgvMQFV6k
34Jafu
No More

(dubstep) A nice jazzy and subtle little dubstep EP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXAlbzomjY4
33iTAL tEK
Hyper Real

(footwork) Nebula Dance B-sides, but whatever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBhsq4QeOgM
32Ulrich Schnauss
A Long Way to Fall

(IDM/ambient) The influence from his ASC collab last year is clearly to be heard, and that's a good thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNdu2Vs-_yk
31Kate Simko
Lost In London

(house) Simko continues moving to a more house-oriented sound instead of her former minimal techno. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOGKMt_tbvw
30Warsa
Deluded/Awake

(dubstep) Darker stuff - free download at https://soundcloud.com/fatkidonfire/sets/warsa-the-fkof-ep
29DJ Rashad
Rollin

(footwork) Rollin' indeed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF7RQHCstMk
28Apparat
Krieg Und Frieden

(ambient/noise/neoclassical) Not as good as some people would tell you, a great listen nonetheless, exploring a more modern classical/noise influenced sound that was designed to be the soundtrack to a "War and Peace" theatre adaption. And although Krieg und Frieden isn't as grandiose as Tolstoj's magnum opus, it surely is great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9Qp70tGSns
27Tricky
False Idols

(trip hop) Yes, Tricky is back. Although not *really* a return to his '90s sound, it has the same atmosphere and it surely is good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVxyddwfTI0
26DjRum
Seven Lies

(techno/garage) DjRum is still mixing up electronic genres, but seems a bit lost while making his first full length. Some great moments, but also some duller/less inspired ones, sadly enough. But hey, we were pretty spoiled with his past EPs, weren't we? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSudPSU46O8
25Flunk
Lost Causes

(indie/trip hop) A remarkably consistent effort in which Flunk further solidify their sound. Lost Causes sees the band incorporating more of the trip-hop elements from their older albums into the indie sound that dominated This Is What You Get. The result is a nice balance of more "catchy" songs with electronic and trippy influences and of course Anja Oyen Vister's characteristic vocal delivery. All in all, I would consider Lost Causes to be their best album since, at least, Morning Star. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heq0iK90qX0
24Ghostpoet
Some Say I So I Say Light

([tr][h]ip hop) In which Ejimiwe sounds more like Tricky than Tricky did for a long time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABkQ96dh0eQ
23ASC
Polemic

(techno/DnB) So ASC has embraced techno and, basically like any genre he tries, easily makes it his own. His old DnB work isn't totally gone yet, but becomes part of a subtle genre-bending sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w-9-0_U8co (clips)
22ASC
Proton/Electron

(techno) The other thing about ASC, besides working in lots of genres and styles, is that he isn't lazy at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjFc3KGYCvA
21ASC
Solenoid

(techno) As a matter of fact, he releases loads of stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eijFX1ALtGo
20Cult of Luna
Vertikal

(post metal) Don't listen to metal all that much, but I tend to enjoy post metal and this is solid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTc75Qbb_Qg

Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself

(deep house) Some absolutely brilliant tracks as with each of his releases, but this time lacking a bit in overall quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzJ9PfuqkIQ
18Laura Marling
Once I Was An Eagle

(folk) Pretty hyped, pretty great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjmhW8I0-ik
17Trixie Whitley
Fourth Corner

(blues/indie) Daniel Lanois collaborator/Black Dub member Whitley finally goes solo and shows off not only her amazing voice, but also pretty good songwriting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j805tMYl0kM
16FaltyDL
Hardcourage

(house) In which Lustman decides to just drop some bangers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbM0l-mtbXQ
15V.I.V.E.K
Asteroids/Over My Head

(dubstep) Can't explain all the games that we used to play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCIyvKc7W-4
14Sorrow (UK)
Dreamstone

(dubstep) Lush but brutal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0fHsRLCW-U
13Biome
Spawned

(techno/dubstep) "this is some next level shizz" - Deviant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXcj5xQFKLo
12Ellen Allien
LISm

(minimal techno/noise) This is the first album where Allien is sounding downright scary at times. Although it might come as shock, and definitely not the poppy Schwung we know and love from Ellen "I am techno" Allien, it turns out to be a rather intruiging listen. Is this a new direction for her and her label, or will it end up to be a gimmick? I don't know, but we can conclude that Queen Ellen still firmly sits on her throne. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6djN2Qn_MeQ (medley)
11Chvrches
Recover

(electropop) Appetizer for the upcoming debut album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAV_YmtvVm0
10Kryptic Minds
Namaste

(dubstep) With the recent revival of the old school "deep, dark" dubstep, I've heard quite a bit of this kind of stuff. Although it can be really loads of fun to listen to, it's also now quite easy to grow tired of it. Therefore I don't listen to it all that much anymore but of course, one of the classic artists in the "genre" are still being spinned. You know, "I like good things, I like the BEST things, asamatarafack". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TndA01HzNcM
9The Happy
Guilty Pleasure

(pop) Hardly a guilty pleasure: quality, insanely amusing and catchy pop made by four beautiful ladies and a beardy guy. How could that possibly go wrong? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql7FbWOYVfo
8Jon Hopkins
Immunity

(techno/house/downtempo) I still haven't digested this entirely, but it surely is a spectacular album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q04ILDXe3QE
7Felix K
Flowers of Destruction

(DnB) Drum & Bass, but at times completely drenched in techno. It sounds minimal at first, but there's so much going on in each track. Although it sounds pretty "rough", it's clear this thing is really well-though out. It's pretty amazing and could still grow quite a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZrfq-A
6Laurel Halo
Behind the Green Door

(techno) "Goes HARD, jams HARD, bangs HARD" - ilovetree. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENVeEBbGk00
5Poppy Ackroyd
Escapement

(modern classical) I already loved Ackroyd as a core instumentalist of Hidden Orchestra, but now she proves to be a competent composer, too. On her own, she takes a very minimal approach, in the sense that she only uses piano and violin, and extracts every possible sounds from those instruments, supplemented with sparse and thoughtful sampling. The result? One of the most plainly beautifull albums of the year to get entirely lost in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD3yRyj_I4M
4Bonobo
The North Borders

(trip hop/garage) Slowly growing on me to become one of my favourites this year, making me wonder why it had to grow in the first place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFSGQZVsBJA
3Silvie Loto
Solstice

(techno/house) Although this is officially marketed as an EP, it's almost an hour long. However, Solstice seems to pass by much faster than you might expect. Despite the fact that this is Loto's solo debut, it is masterfully put together, warm and subtle. It might initially feel simple and empty, but there is so much to be discovered and enjoyed: just sit down, close you eyes and let Silvie look after you - I don't think anyone would object to that. This young woman might be real gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEUTLUJbdHA
2Zomby
With Love

(lots of bassy stuff) Zomby revisits everything he's ever done: the bleeps, the airhorns, the rave nostalgia, jungle, dubstep, trap, the "pshhh" samples, ... they're all there and are thrown together in a long, rather repetitive mess. Sometimes completely nuts and hyperactive, sometimes heart wrenchingly beautiful. God, do I love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5fccx15b2k
1James Blake
Overgrown

(blakestep) Let's just end with a hyped album and a made-up genre tag, shall we? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p6PcFFUm5I
