Porcupine Tree - In Absentia Ranked

In Absentia Ranked. I strayed continuing with these lists for a while, but now I hope to do some more of the PT discog for this.

Collapse the Light into Earth

Simply beautiful. Steven Wilson's voice isn't often the stand-out thing on a PT song,
but man his voice is great on this song, and the lyrics are some of the best he's ever
written.
2The Sound of Muzak

For some reason people complain because this song is pop-ish... which makes no
sense considering Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun are essentially pop albums.
Anyways, I love this song.
3Trains

There's a reason this song is their most popular. It's just so well-written and powerful.
4Gravity Eyelids

I used to be totally bored by this song, but after is sunk in and I understood it, it
became one of my favorites
5Heartattack in a Layby

Dat ending. All the voices singing at the end can give me chills on a good day.
6Blackest Eyes

Not a huge fan of the lyrics here, but the music is great.
7Prodigal

I think this song is slightly overlooked. It's another song that is looked at as kind of
pop-ish. But I like it, the chorus is great and I like the sound of the guitar at the end.

A lot of people really love this song. I like it, just not a huge fan of it like a lot of
people are, I get a bit bored with it.
9Lips of Ashes

Another beautiful, more acoustic song. Good, but it doesn't quite resonate with me the
way Collapse and Heartattack do.
10Wedding Nails

These last three songs all a similar sound. And it's annoying. It's a sound they weren't
quite able to master until their later albums with songs like Deadwing and Fear of a
Blank Planet. These aren't terrible, but I much prefer this style of song in their later
albums when they do it much better. This song in particular is actually pretty fun
though.
