Dream Theater Album Rankings

In the build up to DT's latest album being released, I've been giving their ralbums a spin recently. rHere's a list of their rankings, hopefully my opinions r(and the fact I listen to DT) will get rsomeone buttflustered
11Dream Theater
Black Clouds & Silver Linings

Oh god, the lyrics in this are awful. Portnoys growling in A Nightmare to Remember and the lyrics in The Count of Tuscany make
me wince in pain, I stopped this halfway through it was that bad. The solo in The Best of Times is the only redeeming point in
this trainwreck. Would've been better as an instrumental album. 2/5
10Dream Theater
Systematic Chaos

DT's attempts at being edgy and metal - it worked, but it makes you look like a giant tool. Prophets of War is decent though.
2.5/5
9Dream Theater
A Dramatic Turn Of Events

A whole heap of technical wankery and two-dimensional lyrics; DT should really come to an end, but I want to see the
Seaboard in this new album. One or two songs off this album I actually enjoy. 3/5
8Dream Theater
Falling Into Infinity

Little needs to be said - sell-out album. Hells Kitchen is magnificent though. 3/5
7Dream Theater
Train of Thought

This album is where the technical wankery starts to become a problem. Songs like Stream of Consciousness and Vacant redeem
it though. 3.5/5
6Dream Theater
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence

Disc 1 is perfect, Disc 2? Not so much. The title track feels slapdash and is long for the sake of being long. 3.5/5
5Dream Theater
Octavarium

The title track makes the album, the rest is acceptable and the concept around it is pretty sweet too. 4/5
4Dream Theater
Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory

Who doesn't love a good concept album? Great work here vocally and instrumentally, apart from the cheesy vocals that make
you ashamed to be listening to them in public. 4/5
3Dream Theater
Images and Words

LaBrie's vocals are divine here, shame that they fucked up post-FII. DT's iconic album, and you can see why - Pull Me Under
and Under A Glass Moon's solos. hnnnnnnnnng. 4.5/5
2Dream Theater
Awake

Killer album, DT is better being heavier in this album then later on when they just start wanking their instruments. Scarred is
god-like. 4.5/5
1Dream Theater
When Dream and Day Unite

Dominici is really underrated in this album; if you overlook the poor production, it's pretty much DT's peak. It's their only album
that I'll happily listen to in its entirety. 5/5
