SubtleBody 05.16.13	Sennheiser HD202 I get them for about $70 and the cables bust after about 1-2 years, but I can never be fucked paying more for headphones with detachable cords, so I just keep going back to them. They sound nice and they're comfy.

liberi 05.16.13	In that price range and closed style, you'll get lots of recs for Sennheisers - which is right move to make. There are plenty of other gems under in that price range, but smarter to just go with safe bet and get some sennheiser hd 202's.

As opposed to open-back, which allows air to escape both sides of the ear pads (not just towards your ear). Open-back phones have terrible sound leakage, but they usually have superior sound quality.
Masochist 05.16.13	Also...I don't mind AKG K44's. Then again, I got mine for $20, so I guess I can't really complain. As for recs...yeah, my Senn HD-202's were awesome, but also yeah, they have weak-ass cords. I might also rec Audio Technica ATH-M30's or M40's, both of which come between $30-50. And someone else rec'd Sony XB-500's, which are definite recommends if you need DAT BASS.

zuzek 05.16.13	If you are willing to consider IEM's, I just bought some VSonic VC02's and for the money ($40-50) you are getting some absolutely incredible quality. They're almost as good as my KRK KNS-8400 studio headphones which are 5-6 times that.

SupercolliderMusic 05.16.13	ATH M50s are $100 and will be your best bet for that price. If you want an EXCELLENT pair of ear buds, i'd recommend the JVC HAFX1X's.
anarchistfish 05.16.13	I have JVC HA-500s, which are really good (they cost £30 and are probably better than my old £95 in-ears) sound quality wise, but probably aren't what you're looking for if you want good isolation. I listen to music on my computer most of all, but I don't want a big speaker system because I have neighbors and roommates. Hence, headphones.

RadicalEd 05.16.13	Teufel: aureol real. - ultra light - very comfortable - very detailed and neutral sound for it's price range (about hundred bucks). - stylish only downside is the bass which is kind of shaky at times when you listen to say electronica with deep heavy bass. (Clubroot for example)
