My Favorite Polyrythms
1Tool
Lateralus

Laturalus:
A masterpiece in polyrhythm, the bridge blows my mind when the bass plays in 6, the drums in 5, and the guitar in 4.
2Led Zeppelin
Physical Graffiti

Kashmir:
The classic polyrhythm 3/4 over 4/4 in a classic song.
3Thrice
The Artist In The Ambulance

Blood Clots and Black Holes:
I adore the opening riff of this song. It's even better when it's played under a syncopated riff that adds a beat after each break in the rhythm.
4Sigur Ros
( )

Untitled 3:
Beautiful melody in 3 that is kept fresh by the chord changes in 4.
5Dream Theater
Train of Thought

Honor Thy Father:
When I saw Dream Theater a couple years ago, they played each part so effortlessly that they looked bored. However, during this song when they came out of a jam in the bridge, each instrument falls into its own time signature and it was the only time that night that they actually looked like they had difficulty playing. Ironically on the cd it doesn't really sound that hard.
6Mudvayne
L.D. 50

(K)now F(orever):
There's a specific point in the song where the band does descending hits in the pattern of 4 hits, 3 hits, 2 hits, and 1 hit. After a couple of repeats, the band goes into a jam with the drummer following with his hands while he repeats the descending hits with his feet. It's amazing.
7 Stravinsky
Rite of Spring

The birth of the polyrhythm.
8Dillinger Escape Plan
Miss Machine

Phone Home:
The ghost notes on the snare give a haunting rhythmic beat a signature that I have yet to figure out played over a syncopated 4 beat on the ride cymbal.
9Battles
Mirrored

Atlas:
The funky guitar riff which never seems to find the pocket in the steady percussive 4 beat is mesmerizing.
10Porcupine Tree
Deadwing

Deadwing:
The drumbeat dances around by having the snare hit in 4 but the kick drum in 7 during the bridge.
