My Favorite 20 Bands

You May disagree with me, but for different reasons, I love all thsee bands.
1Incubus
Morning View

Now you may all disagree with me, I may disagree with myself, But for some reason I love them to death, Fungus Amungus and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. showed how original and talented they all were. Morning View is so calm and Peaceful that after listening to it, I always leave happy. The Band has such talent and catchy songs that I cant help but love them. They bounce off each other and use each other to make the band better. I can't put words into how much I love them, even though I just did.
2Nine Inch Nails
The Downward Spiral

Whenever I listen to The Downward Spiral, I always get sad. Through all the madness of the album, It is able to be summed up in one song- Hurt, which is beyond good. Year Zero is able to bash Bush and not be idiots.(Green Day) For being so original, and lyrical ingenious, Trent and the gang of Nine Inch Nails gets Second Best.
3Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against The Machine

The way Rage makes every member so important s great. You realize how much the bass adds, how sweet Tom's strange riffs are. How Zack spits his rhymes out like venom, everything is even in this band. They just seem cool, and no one really hates RATM. The funky bass, heavy and cool guitar, the thrash type drumming on Brad's part and of course Zack, The best rapper in the world just make it fanominal.
4Stone Temple Pilots
Purple

The best grundge ever IMO. They were able to break the "Pearl Jam." similarities with Purple and everything else about them is great. Scott Weiland is a very interested person. Being able to use his many "experiences"(heroine) to write such imaginative lyrics to be supported by throbbing bass, awesome drums and a great guitarist. And although predictable, the band has such chemistry together and great, catchy songs.
5Foo Fighters
The Colour And The Shape

This is the band I first ever really started to listen to. In Your Honor was the first ever album I had bought. This band really does belong in the 90s, because they do sound like Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Dave Ghrol is a talented man, adrummer, singer, guitarist. So for getting me into music in general, I give the Foos the spot.
6AFI
Sing The Sorrow

The punk beginnings leading to the goth-rock style they are now. A.F.I are a very interesting band to look at. I can't understand the lyrics at all, and I would like to think of myself as smart. None of the members are all that talented, but seem to have such chemistry with eachother to create such beautiful music. Each album has a lasting impression on me with every listen.
7 Jane's Addiction
Nothing's Shocking

Jane's Addiction is able to achieve what many can't, being able to be funny in their music and not suck. So many bands try to be witty and un-serious in their lyrics and fall flat on their face. Jane's Addiction always are being naked and talking about doing drugs and stealing in the shallowest of ways, but have such great music, the idiotic lyrics fit everything. Perry Farrel is one of my favorite lead singers but not even for his singing, her personality so zany and crazy, he pulls the band up so much.
8Mute Math
Mute Math

Another band that I have checked out recently. Some people have been saying bad things bad about the band, I i really have no idea why. With superb, intricate drumming, a great lead singer, and driving bass, the band really is great. The techno influence truly is impressive.
9Muse
Black Holes And Revelations

I really have respect for Muse. They are masters of having a perfect balance of sound. From Knights of Cydonia to Sing for Absolution, they keep everything level. From being able to sound like The Killers, But better on so many levels. They are the band that started me into guitar and really had me listening to better music in general.
10Linkin Park
Hybrid Theory

I know, I know, shut up. I realize that there not an amazing band, I will accept that they suck soon. But I guess In The End was the first ever rock song I ever heard and it's really hard for me to not love them. In a few years, I'm definitely going to let go of this band, but it's hard considering I'm 14 and have loved this band for so long. But dont worry, I will.
11Billy Talent
Billy Talent

Well when I thought pop was the only genre of music(silly me) My favorite was Billy Talnet. And when I started branching out, I thought they sucked, but looking back, they really are a good, solid band. Their guitarist is talented, unlike other pop bands, and the singer is different. The songs are catchy and although not the greatest band, a damn good one.
12Attack In Black
Marriage

I am sad to realize that most of you wont know this band or album, but they truly are worth a listen. They kinda mix classic rock and punk all into one cool package. They are canadian and indie, which means unheard of, but they are so cool and should be listened to.
13Interpol
Turn On The Bright Lights

I first listened to their last effort, Our Love To Admire, and became their fanboy. Then I backtracked to Turn The Bright Lights On, and fell in love with it, with such great emotional music on it. The lead singer is quite good. Staying in his range, which isn't very ranging, but he uses it well to give each song the Interpol stamp on it.
14Killswitch Engage
As Daylight Dies

Well my London, Ontario radio station played "My Curse." By the, and at that time I thought metal was stupid and bland,(silly me) but the band used such contrast between the crazy riffs and emotional breakdowns that I fell in love with. The screaming was apropriate in the song, and the singing was so powerful and sad. I bought "As Daylight Dies and their is no bad song on the album and This is the band that got my toes into metal, so I applaud them for it.
15Arcade Fire
Funeral

Well I noticed how much credibility this band has. Everyone seems to like them. David Bowie, most of sputnik, even a muchmusic (Canadain music channel) host who loves shitty pop music likes the band. I found funeral emotional and sad but able to empathize with because its not whiny or anything.
16Rise Against
The Sufferer And The Witness

Rise Against have been growing on me less and less over the months, but they were probably my favorite, its just I've realized their lack of originality brings them down a lot. But with edgy riffs and catchy choruses, the band is definitely worthey of the spot.
17Finger Eleven
Tip

I don't know why I like Finger Eleven at all, but I do. They have simple calm yet loud music that is just nice to listen to. With a good mix of power songs and ballads, I like them alot when not being to over critical about music.
18Rammstein
Mutter

Possibly the best German industrial band in the world, but thats not saying too much. Despite overly simple guitar riffs, they are able to mix in techno with rock quite flawlessly and their bold and interesting lyrics gives this band the spot.
19Protest The Hero
Kezia

My brother gave me Kezia and at first I didn't like it too much just because all it was, was just multiple riffs and just shredding. I liked simpler music and I dismissed. Then I saw the 5/5 reviews Kezia got and the high spots for 2005 it was getting. I re- listened to the album and then I realized it ruled. It would be higher, but only one album out and if Fortress sucks, the this spot is justly placed.
20Tokyo Police Club
A Lesson In Crime

A fitting way to end the list. They arn't a truly amazing band and don't want to be, just singing about robots and some techno piano and bass contrast. It's really great to listen to this band within the mix of everything.
