StallionMang 04.03.13	I'm actually really surprised at what albums AREN'T on this list. No Blur, no Flaming Lips, no DJ Shadow, no Rush, no King Crimson, no Yes... I'm beginning to question its legit-ness.

Aids 04.03.13	it's not a bad goal but don't fool yourself into thinking that those are actually the 500 best albums ever. (Most of) those albums are there for a very good reason, but Rolling Stone has very limited taste.
StallionMang 04.03.13	RYM's really good, and I also found a site called "AcclaimedMusic", that shows you the top 3000 most critically-acclaimed albums and songs of all time.
Aids 04.03.13	here's a thought: think for yourself, stop seeking out lists put together by other people that probably don't share your exact taste
evilford 04.03.13	think for yourself, don't accept recs at all. just listen to all artists ever alphabetically and decide for yourself which ones are the best. who knows by the time you die you may have discovered a few good artists
StallionMang 04.03.13	@Aids/evilford Personally, looking at what other people think are their favorite albums helps ME branch out and develop my musical taste a little better. Remember, being a freshman, my tastes aren't gonna fully develop for a few years.
