02.27.13 | I just want a Tele, but i dont want to drop 600 dollars on a guitar again. and, how is that 7 string dot? Playing guitars with extra strings always throws me off and confuses me haha |
DotEight
02.27.13 | Well most of the music I've been listening to the past year are all bands with 7 strings. And you can reproduce it on a 6, it just doesn't sound exactly the same.
And I love it. It took me a few weeks of steady playing to get the feel for it, but I spent about $700 on it and it's money well invested. |

02.28.13 | An Ibanez GAX50 that I've had forever. Still plays pretty well and I'm happy to have it, but I've been in the market for a new axe for about 5 years, just haven't had the cash to get one. |

Gibson Les Paul Standard
B.C. Rich JR V NJ Deluxe |
Inferis
02.28.13 | I've got an Ibanez RG1570 Prestige, an Eastwood Airline 2P Deluxe, and a Yamaha acoustic. I play the acoustic the most due to my amp being at my band's practice space (A Marshall JCM Half Stack). Being a lefty is terrible, I would have way more but I can never find anything decent for lefty's that isn't 3 grand. |

02.28.13 | Acoustics:
I own like... 4 acoustics. I have a little Cordoba Guilele which I use when I'm traveling or want a softer tone (since it's nylon). I had an old... oh I forget the name... But the bridge snapped off when I (stupidly) put steel strings on it even though it was a classical. I need to use some wood glue and put the thing back together, it was beautiful. I tried my hand at a cigar box guitar. But, I didn't have the best materials for the bridge and nut. So, I now just use it as a slide/ebow resonator since the action is too high. I have an old, low budget, student guitar from when my younger brother started his lessons back like 10 years ago. The thing is now my staple since it has a really bright tone in it due to the fact it's been weathering outside, in the basement, and in the dry Colorado and Arizona climates for about a decade now. I use it for most of my recording, it's a good acoustic. I also have a new Yamaha acoustic I got for my birthday a year or so ago. I use it when I play for other people, because it has a richer tone in a good setting, but sounds a little distorted in my recordings because it can be so loud, and it's a little big for my liking since I have pretty small hands.
I have ONE electric. It's not even mine, per-say. It's actually my younger brother's from when he was younger, but he hasn't used it in years. It's a really crappy Silvertone, and the modulation knobs barely work, the whammy bar's gone missing, and it's been that way for ages. So I usually just jam a bird feeder hangar in there and it does about the same thing. I don't use it much, unless I want something to sound kind of like it's in an eternal minor key.
I prefer acoustics, so I tend to pretty much stick with them.
I also have a dulcimer, a mandolin, and a melodica. |
