johnnyblaze 02.19.13	i love montreal. it's easily the best city in Canada, if not north america. housing is relatively cheap for a city, it's got a great music scene, really good food (i bring back about 30 baguettes and a couple pounds of cheese every time i go), and ya the weed, man, the weed is amazing.

Don't go for something because it has prestige or because you think you should. Do what favors your skills and interests. Also, from what I gathered both in Canada and the U.S. university is on some levels still considered "school". (probably also considering the 'earlier' entry with undergrad ect.)

anarchistfish 02.19.13	It's not simply the prestige or education. They're both extremely good universities so that part is almost irrelevant. But of the two cities the one which doesn't offer this is one I'd much rather live in it considering will take 3 years out of my life.

InfamousGrouse 02.20.13	If you're going into that scene unprepared it'll be a bitch to adapt to the dialect regardless of your french background. I know a girl who went to a comedy roadshow there and understood about half of it due to differences in accent, colloquialisms etc. Do English universities offer grants for overseas study? Ours does but only in European countries. It costs about 4k a semester to go over to the US or Canada, not including flights and living expenses. Ain't nobody got time for that. Also, bad luck in the game last night, Fish. Was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be.
stereonpl11 02.20.13	I'm french, my cousin moved to MontrÃ©al and after a while she naturally started speaking with the local accent. If you're french too don't worry about their accent, you'll get used to it very quickly. I've already spent couple of days in this city during a roadtrip in north america and I think it should be one of the best city in the world to live.

KSK1 02.21.13	Only been once but it's definitely a great city. Has some sketchy areas you wanna avoid but there's a lot to do there. If you speak french im sure you'll get along there fine. I don't so I had my difficulties lol. Overall I think I preferred Toronto to be honest.

Aids 02.22.13	oh wait you're European right so you meant real football? I thought you meant American football. Yeah NA is generally not big into football, but it's getting more popular every year. Montreal's team is either about to go, or just went professional so there is probably a huge buzz there. A couple years back was Vancouver's first year in the professional league and the atmosphere (among soccer fans anyway) was great.
