Best Of Black Sabbath

The best 8 black sabbath albums ranked. Obvious which ones.
1Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath

The title track is probably one of my top three favorite metal songs of all time. This was the original, this was the original heavy. But not only was it the first, it is one of the best. Ozzy, Iommi, and Butler have some of their best work on this album. Personally, and statistically, this is the best Sabbath album.
2Black Sabbath
Master of Reality

Coming in at number two is their third release. Although there are only six real songs with two interludes, each of the six songs are rock solid, and are among the best of Black Sabbath. Sweet Leaf and Children of the Grave being the main highlights. This album just flows so well.
3Black Sabbath
Mob Rules

The second, and last album with Dio, Mob Rules is the better of the two Dio albums in my honest opinion. Sure, Heaven and Hell was the first, but this album has better hooks, production, emotion, and it just flows better. I dunno, i just think its better. Kickass album art two.
4Black Sabbath
Heaven and Hell

The original Dio album delivers, but it just hasn't got the same refined punch that Mob Rules has. There are some killer cuts, and not any real filler. There's just not as good flow, and not as high highpoints.
5Black Sabbath
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

This album is pretty darn sweet, but its often a little overrated because Vol 4 was pretty much a let down after MoR. The title track leads the charge, and there are a lot of choice cuts, but at this point Sabbath is starting to run short of ideas.
6Black Sabbath
Paranoid

This album is pretty much boring after four songs. War Pigs, Paranoid and Iron Man are AMAZING, with Planet Caravan being fairly nice. After that, this album is horrendously overrated and boring.
7Black Sabbath
Vol.4

After the stellar Master of Reality, they follow up with a rather unfocused hit or miss album. A lot of the tracks are great, a lot are misguided and weak. It doesn't scream the same amount of effort and uniqueness as its predecessors. However, it has a very nice guitar tone. This is by far the heaviest in terms of distortion by Sabbath by this point.
8Black Sabbath
Sabotage

Although it deserves to be in the 8 best black sabbath albums, it really shows how Ozzy was losing his edge. The band was still in their prime, they were just on their way down. Evident filler, repetitiveness, and the highs just aren't as high anymore.
